A gem of the Dee Valley, the Chain Bridge was originally built in 1817 by local coal merchant Exuperius Pickering to open up a cheap transport route across the River Dee, enabling him to take coal to the A5.
It was later rebuilt by Henry Robertson during the 1870s and then by his son Sir Henry Beyer Robertson in 1928, who rebuilt the suspension bridge that stands there today.
Safety concerns forced the 19th century structure in Llangollen to close, but it was later snapped up by Llangollen town and Llantysilio community councils for just 50p each.
The council then spent £326,000 on restoring the bridge, which is thought to be the oldest chain links bridge in the world, back to its former glory.
The bridge will now help re-establish the strong link between the Llangollen railway and the canal, part of the Pontcysyllte World Heritage site.

The chain stitch was so much fun this week, I love how textured it get's when you put the chains close together!

An old boundary post (cast iron, I assume) with a hole through which a chain could pass. Layers of paint have flaked away, showing the changing colour schemes of years past.
Each necklace has been designed and acid etched on brass by Ryan Robot. Each pendant measures roughly 2x2 inches and is attached to a metal chain that varies in length.

Chain on a swing. Or, I guess the swing is on the chain. Either way it's the chain that is connected to a swing.
Boots support office attemped to beat the world record for the longest human & soft toy chain. Human - Teddy - Human - Teddy ... The previous record stood around 600 which was smashed. Final result came in at 1040!
