I have found information on the Candi Asu in Bandungan on two blogs from a few years ago. They both couldn't give any details about the age, origin or history of the temple. There were a few newspaper articles reporting about the existence of Candi Asu Bandungan in local daily newspapers from the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, but they were even less informative, apparently written from the blog notes of the two bloggers.

The hilltop with the temple remains is in twenty minutes walking distance from the village.

The group was composed, from north to south of candi Sentyaki, Ontorejo, Petruk, Nalagareng, Nakula Sadewa and Gatotkaca. Only the first and the last one are still standing today.
