This is a picture of the pelican nebula. Its shape is in active change as a result of the interaction of the cold gas and the gas heated by the prescence of neraby stars. The front can be seen in the lower part (cataloged as IC5067), which is a star formation region. With some imagination, it can look as a couple of mountains being showered by the cloud of ionized gas above :).

A view into the celestial southern sky from Harbour Point, Binalong Bay, larapuna, Bay of Fires.
The southern sky does not have a bright 'Pole Star'. Instead we have a piss-weak 4th magnitude star - Sigma Octantis or Polaris Australis depending*.
That star is in the constellation Octans which is lurking around the darkest of those dust lanes between the Large Magellanic Cloud and the Milky Way proper. The main tree is sorta leaning towards where it would be in the sky.
Of course we have the Small Magellanic Cloud in the upper sky as well.
The two clouds are satellite galaxies to our own Milky Way.
One day I'll get around to pointing a longer lens at them when I have the tracker with me.
Unfortunately some intense, local light pollution from street lights and a couple of sodium jetty lights and airglow tangled with the colours of night sky so once again, went monochrome.

Somebody posted a view of this building on one of my Facebook groups, and I looked back to my November 2020 folder from deep in the pandemic when I last toured the grounds of the San Diego LDS Temple taking photos. I'd walked all around the building, which is one of the most striking and beautiful modern churches I've ever photographed. (built 1993)
The view with which everyone is familiar shows both spires, but here is a view of the entrance at the east spire, which I call the "spaceship view". I took photos at all conceivable angles and only posted two photos back in November 2020 after I took them.

I'm pretty sure I could win a ‘guess what this is?’ competition with you on this one .
It’s an in-camera multiple-exposure of three ICMs, taken with movements along the vertical and both diagonals. It was virtually monochrome in the camera, but as it’s Monochrome Thursday today I've processed it in Silver Efex and given it a rich selenium tone.
But what is it of?
It’s of the top of some trees against a cloudy sky. The trees are all black twigs in winter so that’s what has given it the monochrome look with lots of scratchy lines. I used the Light blend mode in the camera and because the ICM pushes the images to a mid-grey the blending is random and unpredictable.
I rather like these abstract effects and I was a bit surprised when these monochrome fabrics started appearing on the camera screen. I'll put this one as the first in my monochrome 100x sub-project.
