How is you weekend going? It’s been a great day yesterday. We got to escape the city limits for a while and go meet some new people up in Wisconsin. 3am start wasn’t fun at first. But after meeting my buddy Chris (@mywisconsin) we had a blast. We lucked out again with the unexpected whiteout over night and some blue hour fog. Holy Hill cathedral looked like it has celestial highlight. What do you think?

The sunset greeting us after a longer than normal absence held me in awe, yet again ... and it put on a show for over an hour
I was a little disappointed with our views of this week's northern lights display. Without a cellphone camera, it was pretty much a faint glow in distance, a far cry from what I seen south and west of here. This was actually taken the following night and is heavily edited to bring out any details. No beautiful red or pinks here,but interesting nonetheless the less. My biggest thrill was catching a Starlilnk satellite array, that was even more awesome. Should of took a video of that but I was so surprised the thought never entered my mind...

Grande conjonction entre Jupiter et Saturne.
Capturée au crépuscule, alors que le ciel s’assombrit doucement après le coucher du Soleil, ma photographie révèle deux planètes se tenant côte à côte dans l’immensité nocturne, la planète la plus brillante est Jupiter, géante gazeuse et quatrième objet le plus lumineux du ciel après le Soleil, la Lune et Vénus. Juste à proximité, plus discrète, se trouve Saturne, reconnaissable à son éclat doré. Leur rapprochement apparent dans le ciel, bien que les séparant en réalité de centaines de millions de kilomètres, est le fruit d’un alignement vu depuis la Terre : un phénomène astronomique rare appelé grande conjonction.
Cette image saisit non seulement la beauté de ce moment d’astronomie, mais aussi la poésie de l’Univers, rappelant combien les mouvements des planètes rythment le ciel et nous offrent, parfois, des spectacles d’une harmonie unique...
Great Conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn.
Captured at dusk, as the sky slowly darkens after sunset, my photograph reveals two planets standing side by side in the immensity of the night. The brightest planet is Jupiter, a gas giant and the fourth brightest object in the sky after the Sun, Moon and Venus. Nearby, more discreet, is Saturn, recognisable by its golden glow. Their apparent proximity in the sky, although in reality they are separated by hundreds of millions of kilometres, is the result of an alignment seen from Earth: a rare astronomical phenomenon known as grand conjunction.
This image captures not only the beauty of this moment in astronomy, but also the poetry of the Universe, reminding us of the extent to which the movements of the planets give rhythm to the sky and sometimes offer us spectacles of unique harmony...

It look a couple of efforts to identify the celestial South but eventually managed to locate it behind the tree. This was taken near Mkuze in KwaZulu Natal where there were many knarled trees, many of which seem to have died in the last 5-6 years due to continuing low rain levels

The Buddha rests his head on his right arm. There is a legend related to this reclining posture. The Buddha appeared before the giant Asurindarahu, who had wanted to see the Buddha but because of his superior height refused to bow down to him. The Buddha made himself very tall and gave the giant a glimpse of celestial figures that were even larger. The giant was thus humbled.

Somebody posted a view of this building on one of my Facebook groups, and I looked back to my November 2020 folder from deep in the pandemic when I last toured the grounds of the San Diego LDS Temple taking photos. I'd walked all around the building, which is one of the most striking and beautiful modern churches I've ever photographed. (built 1993)
The view with which everyone is familiar shows both spires, but here is a view of the entrance at the east spire, which I call the "spaceship view". I took photos at all conceivable angles and only posted two photos back in November 2020 after I took them.
