This was one of the shots taken this evening at a vantage point in the North Meadow of Chambers Creek Properties, looking south to Steilacoom's Independence Day fireworks celebration.
I haven't taken many fireworks images as I really am not too familiar with the settings of my camera. But I did a bit of online research before heading out to watch the show, in the hopes that I would improve my technique. I used my tripod off and on, but this shot was taken while my finger was holding the continuous shot button down....thus the squiggles. However, it reminds me of some deep space shot of a distant galaxy or nebula or something. I rather like the abstract nature of this one. :-)

Siberian Outpost,Sequoia National Park, Ca.
This is another one from my backpacking trip in the Eastern Siearra in July. This is at camp in the Siberian Outpost. The moon was still too bright in the sky to shoot the milkyway so I decided to incorporate the moonset here. There was a lot of moisture in the air which accounts for the rather large glow around the moon.

Lego Spaceship MOC: The Celestial Empress is a large nuclear pulse propelled spaceship designed specifically to take a contained colony to Alpha Centauri. The Nuclear warhead propulsion system is based on the Project Orion concept and will take this half million Earth ton vessel to .99.99 of the speed of light. It take a little over a year to reach maxim velocity, it will turn cruise for a further 4.5 years before flipping over and using the same propulsion to decelerate for another year before reaching its destination of Alpha Centauri.

Symmetrical hoodoos at Stud Horse Point under a starry sky near Page, Arizona. This is actually a blend of two images. The first (involving the hoodoos) was shot at twilight about 15-20 minutes after sunset using iso 100 to eliminate noise. The second (involving the sky) was shot about 45-60 minutes afterwards at iso 800 and 25 seconds to minimize star movement as I wanted a static star scene. Obviously, a tripod and some patience were required to realize the final image.

No spacecraft, no mission, just a moment of wonder. For a fleeting pause across galaxies, even an alien learns the peace of earthly innocence.
This glittering ball of stars is the globular cluster NGC 1898, which lies toward the center of the Large Magellanic Cloud — one of our closest cosmic neighbors. The Large Magellanic Cloud is a dwarf galaxy that hosts an extremely rich population of star clusters, making it an ideal laboratory for investigating star formation.
Discovered in November 1834 by British astronomer John Herschel, NGC 1898 has been scrutinized numerous times by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. Today we know that globular clusters are some of the oldest known objects in the universe and that they are relics of the first epochs of galaxy formation. While we already have a pretty good picture on the globular clusters of the Milky Way — still with many unanswered questions — our studies on globular clusters in nearby dwarf galaxies just started. The observations of NGC 1898 will help to determine whether their properties are similar to the ones found in the Milky Way, or if they have different features, due to being in a different cosmic environment.

Eden Stone Crush
So…
I recently adopted two wonderful babies. They are called + Sempiternal Eden Stone Light and + Sempiternal Eden Stone Dark by % anxiety. They are insanely awesome.
I was in the % anxiety store, browsing for the next toy. And then I saw them. It was love at first sight. Sempiternal Eden Stone. For days I would find myself at the store when logging in. And I would go back to the demo again. Dilemma: The Light or the Dark? I bought the Dark. Rezzed it and immediately went to get the Light. Of course. I had to have them both. They are one and they are two.
This set is one of the most exquisite things I have seen in my whole ten years of Second Life. I just spent a few days playing in them, shooting, exploring, experimenting, trying to figure things out, discovering the lights, the symmetry that isn’t one, the sick geometry, the possible angles, the refined and intricate roof lines, the gothicity of the whole thing, the refinement of the beige and gold, the rawness of the reds and darks. They are mazes, labyrinths…
I am in awe, head over heels in love with these two marvels. I also find them exquisitely bipolar. Fear and peace. Light and Darkness. Oppression and Relief. So many more dualities than I can count. It’s vertiginous. The photo possibilities are endless. Behind each corner, beauty.
This just blew my mind.Thank you % anxiety guys. Seriously. I had a blast.

I threw in the stereo retouch to make an offer of the free genealogy pedigree Acrobat fill in PDF form.
Clearly I still have a load of captures I made of Longmont's fireworks celebration. I cleaned out several duds; you never knows what you gets. There were a bunch leftovers unretouched so I am blasting out the second fourth series. Being a holiday, I had to buy my fifth on the third.
Boy, I don't believe it! Why did I pick this shot to edit first? It surely looks like this orange hair is scattering willy-nilly from ozone to ozone which seems entirely fitting for a blowhard with a chronic case of nilly-willy! Apparently, it takes big boobs to get the orange boob's willy stiffer than nilly.
According to the city's web site: "Roger's Grove Nature Area consists of 54.9 acres adjacent to the St. Vrain Greenway and includes Fairgrounds Lake, trails, a shelter, outdoor amphitheater, restrooms, native landscaping, demonstration gardens and an apple grove with fruit free for your harvest! Design and construction of the nature area was primarily funded by the Roger and Roberta Jones Foundation. Roger Jones (1915-1995), enjoyed walking along the river with his wife Roberta (1913-1992). Both educators in the St. Vrain Valley School system, the Jones' wanted to contribute an environment for children and adults to visit, learn and enjoy. Roger's Grove was developed as a nature area, arboretum and outdoor learning center. Additional funding came from the Colorado Lottery and Great Outdoors Colorado."
I am rolling out this year's Fourth of July celebration using action on the medium telephoto-zoom. It looks like that I am really poor at hand holding steady. I set my camera back many light years back to the birth. There seems to be a star field in the background. I really like those hand-held telephoto traces. This EXIF reports 200mm but I used a long zoom range over the reddish explosions happened as I triggered the zoom.

It is an interesting experience to see clouds from the other side. This is when we realize how huge they are and can generate lightening.

For those who are wondering on the setup for the bokeh shots I take..Please be little more patient and i promise that you will come across the setup..
Coming to this shot.. Setup up the camera with my fav 55-200mm VR lens with on tripod.. used a longer shutter speed. Start at 55 and manually zoomed into 200mm while the shutter is open for this zoom effect....:)
No Photoshop Effects..Slight Color saturation increase and blacks clipping are done ..
No Annoying Graphic banners and Award Invitations Please..
