I was headed over to the spot where I'd seen that Corvette in the Trans-Am race, because you get a great view looking down hill through a number of little curves, and I thought it'd be a fun place to see the cars fly through at speed. Unfortunately, just as I was getting there (and immediately after I took that picture I posted of the pace car yesterday), Anthony Alfredo in the SpeedtCash No. 38 blew a tire and ran off the course into a bunch of rocks at a turn called the Carousel. This brought out the caution flag and slowed everybody down for a couple of caution laps. Caution laps at Road America take a long time, and I didn't want to have to wait for the race to go green again, so I was going to have to take my pictures of the curvy section under caution.
On the upside, I did see Alfredo's car as he came around the track on his flat tire. The focus is off a little, but I'm posting it anyway.
Anthony Alfredo is young and new, though the No. 38 is his full-time ride. He's a back-of-the-pack guy, though, and he hasn't been on most people's radar. I've only barely noticed him, and only then because his name seems like something made-up for a bad crime novel.

I co-wrote/directed/acted in a play called Shades of Black in which caution tape played a vital role. Part of the reason I love this picture so much.
I am not sure whether it's the same old man from www.flickr.com/photos/derbenjamin/4709185322/ still it makes my heart heavy.
