Playing a bit of catchup with the monthly updates. Better get it done before we get to our next monthly deadline!
Lukas has been gradually eating more and more over the last couple weeks. His sleeping pattern has been deteriorating proportionally as we've succumbed to the old growth spurt trap wherein we feel obligated to feed him whenever he wakes up. We managed to break away from Lukas' spell and are trying to train him back into sleeping through the night. After 2 nights, we managed to get him back to 7.5 hours straight and after a couple more days, we'll attempt to get him closer to 9+.
With respect to the increasing appetite, we've decided to start feeding Lukas some cereal. A week into it, Lukas isn't too sure what he's doing but he seems to like it (certainly way better than a formula top-up).
Otherwise, Lukas is his usual cheerful self. Mommy is definitely his favorite person in the world and he brightens up instantly whenever he sees her. He's also a very active fellow. He can push himself backwards by doing push-ups when left on his belly. He's also managed to roll over from his belly to his back a few times. Only a matter of time before he's chasing Makayla around the house. :)
PS. No teeth yet.
This student is so chatty! It means he's turning into a fantastic reader, but boy, I wish he would use his Inside Voice sometimes!
Week 20 - orchid
I couldn't find a good match for the color when I was out so I took a picture of my shampoo. It's from Tresseme.
The title comes from The Golden Bough by Sir James George Frazer. The entire quotes is "They say that when you see an orchid growing as a parasite on a tamarind tree, you should dress in white, take a new earthenware pot, then climb the tree at noon, break off the plant, put it in the pot and let the pot fall to the ground." (I chose it because the chapter was "Balder and the Mistletoe" and I've been a Norse myth mood thanks to Avengers.)

After breakfast, I browse the BBC News web site and the most interesting story of the day concerning Nasa's lost rubber ducks catches my eye.
The exposure doesn't show that story so well, because I wanted to make sure the Donkey was exposed in the corner - that's where he lives now.

A classmate of Tegan's was staying very close to us at Kings Beach, and we caught up a few times. Both of our kids are close in age (and gender) so it was good for the kids to catchup in and out of the water.
Image of the day and still playing catchup - messed around with the levels in this one trying out Lightroom 3 and aperture

Late night for the kids and us as we went round to a friends house we've not seen for a long time.
It is terrifying how quickly time passes through your fingers when you lose sight of a watch or get distracted by general busyness.

Well we all have a face that we hide away forever, and we take them out and show ourselves when everyone has gone.
