I was both surprised and lucky to see this little green heron take a dragon fly out of flight for a litle snack while I was only feet away.
Perched in a tree and holding its catch, this osprey was photographed on Hutchinson Island near Stuart, Florida.
Today's theme in We're Here! is "Antennae". This is the radio antennae on the Disabled Guy's truck. I took the photo with my phone and it turned out better than I expected. We were loading the benches and tables he made for the Friends of Faire Garden at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, so I just did this in a moment of down time in our loading.

UPDATE
As mentioned in my last post, my sister-in-law (who is married to Averil's oldest brother) has been diagnosed with cancer; she is in Waikato Hospital (Hamilton), and is undergoing major surgery as I write!
In the meantime, I'm 'baby-sitting' an elderly cat (Peewee - who is our cat) and who is a tad upset because Averil's away, and worse: there's a dog in the bedroom...! (Our youngest daughter's Labradoodle! Alf's family are currently in Kruger Park).
So for one reason or another, Life is just a tad demanding right now, but be assured: I will get to your photos...though probably not before the weekend...!
So in the meantime, thanks so much for your very kind and encouraging comments beneath this photo...! Your support is always greatly appreciated...!

I managed to get within about ten feet of this beauty.

Took me a few days off and on working on this page---it was the first hot press (smooth) paper I had tried---things dry ultra fast--and I tried a new product to take out some letters I didn't want and that didn't work well---so the top half is a lot of acrylic work in the "fix up" stage..the hands and fish are watercolor---lots of symbolism here of a past relationship I treasured that has
been lost along the way of life's paths...only I can decipher it all---but now who knows what kind of fish those are...that's no secret...as usual I hurried it all in the end. :-)--little details unfinished etc......but that's me...
This happy dog lacked the intensity of the typical ball-addicted black lab.
The beach approach has become the site of afternoon get-togethers. Only a little brown dog lying some distance from his people was observing proper social distancing.
Pacific County has two confirmed cases of covid-19, three if you count the resident who was diagnosed out of state.

The skill was unique to me, the shore was filled and the language, to me, unknown. I went to catch the sunrise but was intrigued by the flock of fishermen pulling in fish after fish. Some with typical rods and reals, some by hand and most with a large pole. I don't fish in salt water typically but when I do it is miles from shore. I'm a freshwater guy, it's lazy, allows me to pound drink after drink and it's always to just get away. This was not the case, these fish were to be eaten tonight, to provide food for the family and show a presence of accomplishment. I watched for longer than I wanted to because it was that fascinating, seeing the smiles on their faces as they looked at the other anglers after pulling in their catch was delightful. I will return, not with my camera but with hooks, line and bait.

The first person I showed this to, a boyfriend, said, "you look like a bride."
A veil of white bokeh set off that daydream, I suppose!

When you face your fear, most of the time you will discover that it was not really such a big threat after all. We all need some form of deeply rooted, powerful motivation -- it empowers us to overcome obstacles so we can live our dreams. - Les Brown

Back to Copt Hill and the stormy sunset on Wednesday. As I made my way through the stile this is the view I was greeted with. I was a bit like a rabbit in head lights for a while but managed to compose an image in between filter wiping and trying to get the tripod steady. I considered dropping the saturation on this shot but decided to leave it as is because the light really was this intense (but strangely not that bright as exposure settings show). At first the Bald Eagle's dive was so unexpected and close, that just getting a photo was amazing. I knew he's got something, I thought it was some unfortunate duck or fish. on reviewing the image it appears to be a gift from a fisherman. I had not noticed it, but the eagle had!
