Bought at auction with three other cased images. I thought they were all ambrotypes, but it turns out this one and one other are tintypes. It is sixth-plate and cased in an ornately embossed but simple leather covered case that is broken at the hinge.

I suspected it was relatively early in the long period that tintypes were produced (1856 onwards) and have now confirmed this as the plate is embossed with the words "Neff's Pat 19 Feb 56", which dates it to 1856-60.

More farming pics no combines as to wet so went with some tractors tonight instead. The farmer who i spoke too has told me to come back soon as there will be 3 combines in the field so if i can should make a great shot. Thanks for all your comments and faves.

Below previous shot.

For travelling and taking street photos with my X10 I choose this configuration, which is not the coolest one, but it’s the most practical for me.

I carry my camera in a leather case inside an inexpensive and plane backpack. The case is rigid outside and soft inside, and looks great!

When walking around I carry the case on my neck, instead of the camera. It is easy and fast to take it in and out from the case because it has a magnet lock. The camera has a hand strap for safety during shots. This case is not screwed to the bottom of the camera.

I use a UV filter as a protection instead of a cap. It allows me to be ready faster for shoot and provides weather and dust protection for the lens. The lens size is 40,5mm, but not all 40,5mm filters fit perfectly, mine just turn a couple of turns, but it’s ok.

At home I prefer a cheap plastic cap with its strap.

An extra battery and a power adapter are a must too.

I put in the flash shoe a plastic cup for protection, and it looks cool.

I also put a 3” protective film on the LCD.

That’s all!

A lady was about to throw this away, and I asked her if I could have it. It is the coolest thing. The bottom opens like a little cabinet, and I will probably turn it into a bedroom =0)

Vecchie case, quanto tempo e' passato, mura che hanno le rughe e tanto da raccontare. Conservano il loro fascino, non si può fare a meno di notarle.

Resonance case principle – for outstanding richness of tone colour

and the legendary pure and inspiring sound. This complex

construction is part of the Viennese tradition of piano making.

The whole body, not just the soundboard, supports sound formation,

similar in principle to a violin. Bösendorfer usees Austrian spruce

tonewood, the ideal sonic material, which constitutes over

80 % of the wood in every Bösendorfer grand piano – this is the

highest percentage of any manufacturer. The actual core of the

piano rim consists of a 10 mm quarter-sawn piece that is specially

grooved by the craftsmen to allow it to be formed around

the inner rim – this is unique to Bösendorfer. When a note is

played, the integrated spruce components become acoustically

active, forming a complete resonating body that gives the

whole instrument an unparalleled resonance.
