Ezra 7:25 “Now you, Ezra, in keeping with the wisdom of your God which you possess, appoint judges and court officials who can arbitrate cases on behalf of all the people who are in Trans-Euphrates who know the laws of your God. Those who do not know this law should be taught.”

Unable to find out to much history about this cottage other than it was built in early to mid 17th century. And is a timber-framed cottage with rendered brick infill and a tiled roof, standing on a stone plinth. It is in two storeys. The windows in the lower storey are casements, and those in the upper storey are gabled dormers.

Em meio a duas semanas de tensão e conflitos devido a ocupação da Universidade de Brasília onde trabalho, essa foto foi tirada durante o plantão da ocupação da Reitoria especialmente para o meu Momo-san. Só para relaxar.
A day of much coming and going as Louise has her last official day of VCE. She had to be at the college by 6:15 am for breakfast and 'muck up' day activities. She is home now getting cleaned up before their graduation ceremony later this morning. Then back home to get get her hair done for tonight's Valedictory Dinner.
I spotted this Case Moth up near the college. You can see part of the caterpillar where the case is attached to the twig.
Will catch up as and when I can.
I had a pretty sweet summer vacation in 2021. While central Europe had catastrophic levels of rain, we up here in Sweden had nothing but sun and warm weather.
This obviously led to lot of time spent by the lake. In our case, lake Öjesjön outside Härnösand, Sweden, where I not only could enjoy amazingly warm water, but also take breaks, go up and get the camera and walk around in the water and shoot a couple of species of beetles - and these guys.
This is a male large redeye (Erythromma najas), also called the red-eyed damselfly. Only the males have these amazingly red eyes and there were loads of them to chase for me.
Unfortunately, the swaying of the reeds and lily pads on the water made it necessary to use a pretty small aperture to properly freeze the motion as the bright sunlight otherwise would've lit the subject enough to create motion blur (this way the scene is practically all black except for the fraction of time of the flash duration). This means the background becomes all black as there is nothing to reflect the flash light back from there which though cool in its own way, definitely doesn't convey a summery feeling.

When we were in Cambridge, Vicky wanted to visit the Fitzwilliam Museum as it has an Egyptian section. We didn't stay long but it was pretty crowded with Mummy cases, Sarcophaguses and pottery etc. Nice but not as good as the Ashmolian in Oxford. And to be honest, having seen this stuff in Egypt last year, it loses a lot of it's appeal outside of it's natual habitat.
An old man with a beard so wide,
Stood licking his ice cream with pride.
The sun was hot, the scoop was tall,
But gravity came — and so did the fall.
It plopped on his beard with a splat and a sploosh,
Turning his chin into minty mush.
Kids pointed and laughed, "Look, a dessert face!"
He grinned, “Beards are storage — just in case.”
