There were some very nice displays in the cases lined up against this back wall of the Live Oak Civic Center building at the SWGMS gem and mineral show this year.

Front of an old CASE tractor from the 30s or 40s. Upon examination one can tell that it worked tirelessly throughout its useful lifetime. And It is still working very hard. Fighting the good fight against rust and time. But no matter how hard the fight, in the end time will always, always win. Case in point.
A day of much coming and going as Louise has her last official day of VCE. She had to be at the college by 6:15 am for breakfast and 'muck up' day activities. She is home now getting cleaned up before their graduation ceremony later this morning. Then back home to get get her hair done for tonight's Valedictory Dinner.
I spotted this Case Moth up near the college. You can see part of the caterpillar where the case is attached to the twig.
Will catch up as and when I can.

My son has dropped his cat, Ciri, around for the night as his landlord is replacing the carpet prior to selling the property. So it could be that he will be house hunting sometime soon. But Ciri will miss him I think. She's not going outside in case she strays, I'm not used to cat sitting!:))
my son needed a pencil case, and requested a rhinoceros for it. I had some scrap leather that was soft enough to hand sew. Though it did hurt, and take a whole longer to sew up.

She always looked forward to death as a kind of graduation.
Happily, in her case, the ceremony was brief.
She will be remembered for her great capacity to love and for the laughter she shared.
Found an old worn case of my father's containing a right angle eye piece. unfortunately it does not fit my camera.
Learnt something new this week; never heard of Wabi-sabi before.

I'm happy to share that I'll be exhibiting at a gallery in Vermont (with the great Richard Bram!), opening in a couple of weeks, as well as being included in an accompanying book. I can't make it to the show in person, but will share details in the next couple of days in case anyone lives nearby.

Front and back of the needle case. Partner - do you like this? If you don't I am VERY happy to keep it as I had so much fun making it! The fabrics are all sewing related!!! I will show the surprises inside another day!!! ;)
Four cases bathed in soft light by an overhead skylight within this gloomy attic space. Shot inside a derelict farm cottage on a recent weekend away. I had had a pin marker for this location for a long time now but didn't think I'd get to see it due to it's location. When my partner booked a B&B for us to stay in, I thought that it looked as though it may be in the area, when I dropped the pin marker onto the same map it turned out to be 4km away... Result!
