1942 case Model DI, Industrial tractor originally bought by military in WW2. Bought by my father in the late 80s at an auction. we still use it for farm work. a big slow running four cylinder engine like that has a good sound to it not like the little buzzing cars.
A quick pick of our CASE 9040 Excavator and one of our tandem GMC dump trucks at a local Debris Removal Project in Charlotte, North Carolina. Camera used, SONY HX200V.
I've been in two minds whether this is a telescope case or a drawing/map/blueprint tube. It is marked W SWART 1918 on one end which matches some military issue WW1 binocular cases I have seen online so I've picked "Telescope Case" for the description. (It has no other markings, insignia or issue numbers at all.)
Although it looks very much like some leather drawing tubes I have seen, think it has such a narrow diameter that it would result in very tightly rolled drawings.
It is 32 inches / 82 centimetres long with magenta/purple stuffed velvet pads inside both ends.
Sadly revision one of the case has a few small issues: the side panels aren't actually long enough to interlock, so there are gaps in the corner, and the tabs at the top of the front and back panels overlapped and got cut in, so there are no tabs there. Everything else works nicely, though!
