Graydon Carter, Editor of Vanity Fair for the past 23 years, and founder of Spy Magazine, speaks during his discussion with Bob Iger (not pictured) Chairman and CEO of Disney. Iger and Carter discussed managing iconic media brands in the digital age, and the future of magazines. Unedited Photo. The Carters need their teeth touched up, but other than that, I'm pretty happy with them. Painting this orange translucent resin was a strange experience!

November 19, 2016: For the second half of Nancy's birthday trip, we took the SAM Shortline on its Presidential Flyer Train Ride from the Georgia Veterans State Park to Plains and Archery, GA. In Archery, at the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm, the President made an appearance at the Arts in Archery event being held that day.

I didn't meet him, since so many people were hounding him for photo ops.

Not everyday can you have a President as your Project 365 photo. I couldn't pass this one up.

Bleacher ticket stub

I caught Gary Carter’s 300th home run on August 11, 1988 at Wrigley Field. I have been to hundreds of Cubs games in the bleachers and this is the only homer that I ever caught. I was standing against the left field bleacher fence with my brother when the ball came towards me. The ball went over everybody’s heads and hit the top of the fence. It then bounced on the ground and I jumped on it. I must of had 10 guys pile on me. I was drenched in beer and I broke my new sunglasses. I finally emerged from the pile and stood on top of the last bleacher seat waving the ball in the air. I kind of taunted the crowd for a little while because I had about 30,000 people chanting “throw it back”. Being a die hard Cubs fan, I never thought twice about keeping the ball. I whipped it as hard as I could and made it on to the infield. I must of shook hundreds of hands that night. I did not pay for a drink the rest of the night after the game.

I have been following his every move since then and met him a couple of times to talk about that day. He was a genuinely nice guy to me and said he was grateful that I threw his home run ball back!

Carter is a perfect example of the chunky baby boomer series. He has the wispy wig that was commonly used on this series, and is nearly as wide as he is tall.

After the cave, we drive around on some interstates and some back roads, ending up 400+ miles away from Luray, in Hiltons, VA, formerly known as Maces Springs, home of A.P. Carter (middle of wood mural), his wife Sara (left), and sister-in-law Maybelle (right). Maybelle was June's mother, Johnny Cash's wife. So, to explain where we were going, I would tell people "We're going to where Johnny's Cash's wife's family came from."

Hand painted, I don't know why by; Carter painted their own tiles, other companies bought blank tiles to decorate, as could amateurs. Quite fun whoever painted this.
