Erica is probably my oldest friend. We took ballet together when she was 9 and I was 11. We did 4-H together and went to the same college. We carpooled to ballet for years and I lived with her family my first semester of college. Erica is now married and has this beautiful daughter, Amadora, who recently turned 1. They all came up for the day and I met them for a small bite at the Mar Monte hotel. We laughed and had a wonderful time catching up. Amadora was so sweet and just catches your heart with her beautiful smile!

It's late November, the days are getting shorter and the sun is setting as I leave work behind.
The change of scenery is much appreciated.
Most of these were taken while waiting from Jerrad and than Jerrad waiting for me. (Carpooling is good:)
Carpooling to the dance weekend, we had an ad hoc picnic somewhere in Quebec. Happened on a pretty rest area somewhere along the St. Lawrence.

"Local NAACP secretary Rosa Parks was arrested on December 1, 1955, for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white person. While she did not know her act would trigger a citywide protest, years of abuse of African American passengers by white bus drivers meant that Montgomery's African American leaders were ready for a bus boycott.
News of the boycott spread at the grassroots level, and three days later, Montgomery's 42,000 African American residents began taking taxis, carpooling, and walking to work and school. Meanwhile, African American leaders formed the Montgomery Improvement Association, which took the issue to federal court.
Despite daily personal sacrifices and reprisals from some of the city's whites, the boycott continued for an entire year. Finally, the effort paid off. In November 1956, the Supreme Court ruled that segregation on buses was unconstitutional. The successful boycott nearly bankrupted the city's bus service and demonstrated the power of individual action in forcing change."
Dwarka residents yesterday led the citizen’s campaign to save 16,000 trees from being felled at Sarojini Nagar. Representatives from various organisations, such as Green Circle and Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS), led the protests.
Anil Kumar Parashar of Green Circle, who led the protests at the site, said, “We have to save these trees from felling. We are carrying out the campaign in our own locality as well to make it more effective.”
Dwarkites participated in various activities at the spot, including making posters and banners. And most importantly, they carpooled to South Delhi.
Protesters from other parts of Delhi joined in as well. To protect the trees from being cut at night, they formed night patrol groups.
Parashar said Green Circle will move National Green Tribunal (NGT) today or tomorrow to file a petition in support of the petition filed by NGO Chetna, which initiated the whole campaign.
City Spidey spoke to vice-president of SDKS, SS Mann. He said, “Residents of Delhi must raise their voice against any such thoughtless felling of trees. No development can be acceptable at the cost of environment. We will be carrying out an awareness campaign in Dwarka to support the movement in Delhi.”

every morning, i rendezvous with 2 other strangers under an overpass.
they don’t know my name,
i don’t know theirs,
but that’s okay.
they haven’t something i need (a ride).
and i have something they need (a body).
now, take your mind out of the gutter.
you see, if you drive into san francisco between the hours of 5am and 10am with 3 or more passengers, you are granted access to the carpool lane and cross the bay bridge without paying the $4 toll. some 20 years ago, a casual system of carpooling was created to pair un-car’d people with un-passenger’d drivers. there is no money exchanged and words are rarely said (unless initiated by the drivers as per the etiquette here), but all needs are met… casually, of course.

I illustrated a story about carpooling with multiple children. I first drew the illustration by hand, then scanned it in. I then used Photoshop to create the animated, child-like drawing.
