Not sure of ID & not a good photo but thought it unusual to find it on my white Buddleia in the garden
moss | natures carpet
n | a small flowerless green plant that lacks true roots, growing in low carpets or rounded cushions in damp habitats and reproducing by means of spores released from stalked capsules.
i spent last week up in Arkansas chasing waterfalls. this waterfall photo is from the Blanchard Springs area. i hiked up the falls in order to capture the beautiful green moss which rendered like a carpet on the side of the cliff face. the hike was slippery and steep, but worth it.

Autumn. A slight haze in the wet forest. Wet leaves forming a purple carpet on the trail.

Herbst. Ein leichter Dunst im feuchten Wald. Nasse Blätter bilden einen lila Teppich auf dem Weg.
A random house we were passing by in Red Hook, NY. I had to make a second pass and get this shot with their yard covered in leaves. I didn't even get out of the truck, just rolled the window down and snapped the shot - much to the unhappiness of the mailman behind me who decided I took too long and started to honk.
Was it worth it, what do you think?
Darwin Carpet Python (Morelia spilota variegata)
Now THIS is closer to what I was envisioning for that last Darwin Carpet Python photo.
It's certainly a lot easier when it's smaller and less (surprisingly) aggressive.
Wollkrautblütenkäfer
The varied carpet beetle (Anthrenus verbasci) is a 3 mm-long beetle belonging to the family Dermestidae. They are a common species, often considered a pest of domestic houses and, particularly, natural history museums where the larvae may damage natural fibers and can damage carpets, furniture, clothing, and insect collections.
Wikipedia
For over 25 years, my parents had a carpet store on the square in downtown Cordell, Oklahoma.
In July 1969, I took several pictures inside their store.
My mom at the store.
I haven't done a Magic Carpet Monday in awhile.
Just a simple LR 5 effort to correct colors and a little dodging. Some spot healing brush to take all those little drops of moisture off her face (the Carpets work hard on stage). Also the only crop was to adjust to 11x17 format.

Apologies for the two-week break, but moving (into a rental, for a long remodel) will do that do you. Granted, it was just a few minutes down the road, but that didn't affect the number of moving boxes (a number of which are still not unpacked)... sigh.

Took this photo of my youngest grandson some years ago, and stumbled across it today. Makes me feel happy and laugh, and I hope it does you too. Not a bad photo for an ancient Minolta digital point and shoot. Location: Riehen BS CH.
