I was setting up the camera on the front porch when I captured this bolt. In the next hour I never did get such a good bolt again.

My paternal grandfather John Dawson served with RAF squadron 616 for four years in WW2. He was ground crew and isn't in this photograph but he did bring home with him after the war a small selection of photos taken during his time with the squadron.
It turns out that a the subject here was a bit of a celebrity. This photo which would have been taken in May 1945 depicts Messerschmitt Yellow 17 which was flown was flown by Lt Hans Dorn of 1-JG7. It was captured at Fassberg by No 616 Squadron RAF in May 1945. The aircraft was tested and given an RAF designation before being returned to England. It was later sold to Canada where it was scrapped. By the end of the war the Luftwaffe had quite the range of jet fighters, six in total, although probably only the Messerschmitt 262 was built in any numbers. I will write to the squadron archivists to see if they have more details and perhaps they might be able to recognise the crew.

Captured from behind, a priest in a cassock and black biretta walks along the side of Bergamo Cathedral. The composition plays on the verticality of the figure and the church's powerful stone mouldings, creating an atmosphere of silent devotion and historical continuity between the man and the monumental architecture.
I'm captured and bound but I'm not complaining one bit....lol. I think i may enjoy it. A change of scenery is always good some days. Thanks to Cheeky, the accessories and shoes wasn't hard to find to fit the look. I went to the D23 Event and stopped by the Cheeky booth and found the exact items I was looking for. Cheeky released the Eye Mask! and Bound Legs! that are at D23 that I couldn't pass up. I knew I had to get them. Then I had to hit up Whore Courture Fair 8 before it ended to get the Jella Extreme High Heels! which brought the look to a whole new level. Ladies, If you're looking for THAT look, make sure you hit these events up and stop by the Cheeky booths!!!!!!!!!!! As always, happy shopping ladies☺

I recently saw a composite image where someone photoshopped the moon inside of a glass ball. The concept was very inspiring, I thought I might try it in a single capture. Started with 400mm lens on the moon, then mid-capture lens change to 24mm and on to tripod 2 for my hands holding the glass ball, lit with a quick flash of light through a beauty dish.
Captured this morning. Lake levels are low in Colorado. Hopefully we'll get some good snowfall this winter.
There are some Canada Geese enjoying the lake also.

Sometimes after I've shot a bit of video, I forget to change the ISO back to "normal", and I get crazy settings like 1/3200 @ ISO 1600 in my stills. But amazingly (with the Sony anyways), it seems to produce acceptable images in spite of that!
Don't be thinkin' you'll get away with that with Canon sensors!
Captured this Forsythia Shrub at sunset which then showed through the trees as sun spots and Bokeh's.

to capture an island.. is not so easy.. but not so complicated either.. so lets do it buddies. You can have your own island. like these two buddies.
What you looking at??? Had the trail cam in the same spot for two weeks. Captured a few deer, mostly not centered. Got shots for a couple days, then nothing for the final week. I think they noticed something strange and avoided the area.
Along with being right on the shore of Lake Ontario, another thing I love about my backyard is the giant willow trees, especially when they are leafless.

I captured "One Coffee" (and a lot of beans) and developed with "Capture One".
