police chased a black expedition after reports came in that the driver had assulted and then threatened someone with a firearm. the chase ended when the fleeing expedition crashed into a utility truck. the driver was handcuffed after he was pulled from the firey expedition. the driver of the utility truck he hit was taken to an area hospital.

The black swan had stopped for a few minutes to preen giving us a chance to enjoy and capture a few images before he sailed off !! They truly are a work of art to see with their elegant lines and beautiful coloring.

My obsession with sun stars continues. Captured this on a morning photo excursion to a park near my job. Alas, these parks are tough to photograph because they a disorganized and chaotic. The sun hitting the branches caught my attention and the sigma lens provides odd patterns of light and shadows.
Safe behind the glass the turning neon head inspects the model laying down.

Taken a while back this wonderfully beautiful Bredow's Sister (adelpha bredowi) butterfly, as I captured this awesome moment of it's life as It emerged from it's Chrysalis and waits till it's wings are strong enough to make it's first flight in the most beautiful stage in it's life. Thanks for allowing me to document this spectacular beauty of one of Nature's wonders the Butterfly.!! Hope Y'all like it, enjoy my friends. Lol.

This image was taken just as the tricolor heron was coming in for a landing. He is sporting his courting colors and feathers in this image and always a pleasure to watch.
The Consolidated PBY Catalina was a versatile and widely used flying boat and amphibious aircraft during World War II, renowned for its long range and durability. It served multiple roles, including maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue, and convoy escort, helping to protect Allied naval operations. The Catalina’s ability to land on water made it indispensable for rescuing downed airmen and stranded sailors, earning it a legendary reputation in aviation history.
In front of the municipal office / railway station of Delft, a new building will arise, the so-called Delft House. Until that time, the uncultivated land has turned into a colourful field of tulips, planted by pupils of several secondary schools. Many people visit the place to enjoy and to take pictures.
52 weeks of 2018 - Week 16: Photographing a Photographer
The fans are out in force to capture what will soon be history as CSXT's ex Pan Am local BO-1 noses out toward Lowell Street on the South Reading Branch with MEC 517 leading five empty tank tank cars from the Rousselot plant and one spacer after making the trip out to deliver the final load. The plant is winding down operations and will be closing later this year after being in business in some form for 206 years and with rail service for 173 of those!
The conductor will activate the signals and then flag traffic as the train steps out through the middle of Peabody Square in front of the District Courthouse and beneath the 50 ft tall Soldiers and Sailors monument built in 1881 and inscribed with the 71 names of local residents who died in the Civil War. Prior to 2016 if you'd taken this same shot the monument would have been behind the train in an island in the middle of traffic at the center of the square. However in early 2016 a more than $3 million project to reconfigure the square led to it being moved 30 ft back to this new plaza in front of the courthouse that the train cuts right through. This truly unique and remarkable location will see what may very well be its final train ever two days later when the local returns one more time to retrieve the last empty and take it back to Boston ending an era.
Fortunately, there will be no lack of photos, and the memory of the last trains will live on in stills and videos for future generations of fans to marvel over what once.

capturing a butterfly
with a camera
makes a great metaphor
for freezing fleeting bursts
of magical moments
each flitter is a unique gesture
which passes in an instant
each flutter is a singular motion
which never comes back
Looking through my viewfinder while trying to capture this butterfly reminded me how important it is to live in the moment. It doesn’t matter how simple or insignificant that moment might seem to be. I know that within it lie incredible wonders, but which only my heart can see.

After visiting and capturing images on the bay of An Port and its famine Village I got curious again so decided to venture off the beaten path. I hiked westerly along the rocky coast as it looked totally barren and untouched & this seemed very inviting to me
After a few cliffs and coves I arrived at this scene. A stunning family of sheep grazing right on the cliff edge & to the distance could be seen the most amazing ancient volcanic rock formations i've yet come across in a long time. This was all illuminated with the beautiful mid day sun which reflected off the waters surface like glittering diamonds.
I can still smell of the fresh sea air, hear the sheep baaing and feel the warm sun rays on my right cheek when I look at this image. This is why I love capturing these photos so much as to me they hold not only how on the scene looked, but it holds all the memories & senses I felt at exactly that time...

driving without a map is something we're not used to, but during our road trip through the farm roads of Washington state, we decided to live dangerously and zoom around not knowing quite where we were, it was fun and even though we never got to where we wanted we did find lots of places that we had no idea even existed, it was fun :)
