Tornado Vortex Water Spouts At Crystals City Center Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

My little bit of inspiration in a bottle.

You Don't Own Me- As I was working on this shot this song kept comming to mind. I think it fits lol.

Ok so for those would like a little info... This all came to be, becuase I haven't much inspiration the past couple days... but tonight I was talking to Brutus and all of a sudden this idea hit me... So she had to become my muse. Thanks sweety for posing!

I love the way this came out... the only thing I am debating is if I should of used an sl hand rather than a real one for the hand holding the jar... I like it so much though, am actually thinking of turning it into a series... there are some ideas floating around in my head...

I got this camera on trade for some work and didn't want it. Little did I know it would inspire me to try new things, And also taught me that each camera catches a different image in its own way. Although I was excited to upgrade from my Kodak easy share

The tree lights are up! My city just started doing this a couple of years ago. It's so awesome. My shop is right on a main road they widened a few years back and they've been "beautifying" the area for a while.

Now, at holiday time, we get lights on the gingko trees down the middle divider and it looks like the Champs-Élysées!

Yamdrok Tso ( Turquoise lake ) is about 4500m above sea level

Yamdrok Lake (Tibetan: Yamdrok Yumtso, ཡར་འབྲོག་གཡུ་མཚོ་; Wylie: Yar-'brog G.yu-mtsho; ZWPY: Yamzho Yumco; Chinese: 羊卓雍錯) is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It is over 72 km (45 miles) long. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. The lake does have an outlet stream at its far western end.

Around 90 km to the west of the lake lies the Tibetan town of Gyantse and Lhasa is a hundred km to the northeast. According to local mythology, Yamdok Yumtso lake is the transformation of a goddess.

Yamdrok Lake, also known as Yamḍok Yumtso, has a power station that was completed and dedicated in 1996 near the small village of Pai-Ti at the lake’s western end. This power station is the largest in Tibet.

The lake (638 km² in area, of depth unknown) is fan-shaped, spreading to the south but narrowing up to the north. The mountainous lakeshore is highly crenellated, with numerous bays and inlets. Lake Yamdrok freezes in winter. Like mountains, lakes are considered sacred by Tibetan people, the principle being that they are the dwelling places of protective deities and therefore invested with special spiritual powers. Yamdrok Lake is one of four particularly holy lakes, thought to be divinatory; everyone from the Dalai Lama to local villagers make pilgrimages there. The others such lakes are Lhamo La-tso, Namtso and Manasarovar. The lake is revered as a talisman and is said to be part of the life-spirit of the Tibetan nation. The largest lake in southern Tibet, it is said that if its waters dry, Tibet will no longer be habitable. The lake is home to the famous Samding Monastery which is on a peninsula jutting into the lake. This monastery is the only Tibetan monastery to be headed by a female re-incarnation. Since it is not a nunnery, its female abbot heads a community of about thirty monks and nuns. Samding Monastery is where Dorje Pakmo, the only female Lama in Tibet, stayed and presided, and stands to the south of Lake Yamdrok Yumtso.

Today, both pilgrims and tourists can be seen walking along the lake's perimeter. One of the lake's islands contains an old fort or castle called Pede Dzong.

The Himalaya Range is a mountain range in Asia, separating the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau. By extension, it is also the name of the massive mountain system which includes the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, and a host of minor ranges extending from the Pamir Knot. The name is from Sanskrit himālaya, a tatpurusa compound meaning "the abode of snow" (from hima "snow", and ālaya "abode"; see also Himavat).

Together, the Himalayan mountain system is the planet's highest and home to the world's highest peaks: the Eight-thousanders, including Mount Everest and K2. To comprehend the enormous scale of this mountain range consider that Aconcagua, in the Andes, at 6,962 m, is the highest peak outside Asia, while the Himalayan system includes over 100 mountains exceeding 7,200 meters.

The Himalayan system, which includes outlying subranges, stretches across six countries: Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan. They are the source of three of the world's major river systems, the Indus, the Ganga-Brahmaputra, and the Yangtze. Approximately 1.3 billion people live in the drainage basin of the Himalayan rivers.

Tibet is a plateau region in Central Asia. With an average elevation of 4,900 metres (16,000 ft), it is the highest region on Earth and is commonly referred to as the "Roof of the World."

Geographically, UNESCO and Encyclopædia Britannica consider Tibet to be part of Central Asia, while some academic organizations consider it part of South Asia.

Tibet is located on the Tibetan Plateau, the world's highest region. The world's highest mountain, Mount Everest, is on Nepal's border with Tibet. The average altitude is about 3,000 m in the south and 4,500 m in the north.

Several major rivers have their source in the Tibetan. These includeYangtze, Yellow River, Indus River, Mekong, Brahmaputra River, Ganges, Salween and the Yarlung Tsangpo River. Tibet has numerous high-altitude lakes referred to in Tibetan as tso or co. These include Lake Manasarovar, Namtso, Pangong Tso, Yamdrok Lake, Siling Co, Lhamo La-tso, Lumajangdong Co, Lake Puma Yumco, Lake Paiku, Lake Rakshastal, Dagze Co and Dong Co.

While I'm obviously not as young as Emma Ross, what a wonderfully accurate app.

I'm captured and bound but I'm not complaining one bit....lol. I think i may enjoy it. A change of scenery is always good some days. Thanks to Cheeky, the accessories and shoes wasn't hard to find to fit the look. I went to the D23 Event and stopped by the Cheeky booth and found the exact items I was looking for. Cheeky released the Eye Mask! and Bound Legs! that are at D23 that I couldn't pass up. I knew I had to get them. Then I had to hit up Whore Courture Fair 8 before it ended to get the Jella Extreme High Heels! which brought the look to a whole new level. Ladies, If you're looking for THAT look, make sure you hit these events up and stop by the Cheeky booths!!!!!!!!!!! As always, happy shopping ladies☺

Looking up at a tree fern in the subtropical house at Birmingham Botanical Gardens - I was trying to capture their unique specimen of Discksonia x lathamii but it instead may be one of its close companions...

Sun was going down and caught the top of the ship which was a great light to capture

I went to Amsterdam Zuid to get some work done for my passport and right opposite the office complex was this amazing "park-like" place...I was trying to think of ways to capture this magnificent view on front of me, but couldn't decide on a frame. As I turned around, the sun was in my face (you can probably see little bits of the buildings I was visiting) and at this moment, I saw a lady in a red jacket and it was the perfect moment!

Forster's tern (sterna forsteri) flies off with struggling fish from Shoreline Lake.

Some juvenile Forster's terns were flying around too, but they made no efforts to catch fish. So the fish may well be meant for the fledglings.

Watching the waves in Donabate

Took that capture of the capturing during my daughter's graduation ceremony at the Baltimore Arena. This elderly gentleman made his way slowly down the stairs to the edge of the railing to get a closer shot. From my chair with the 300mm this framed up well as he took his capture. It turned out pretty cool I think so glad I snapped it.

My paternal grandfather John Dawson served with RAF squadron 616 for four years in WW2. He was ground crew and isn't in this photograph but he did bring home with him after the war a small selection of photos taken during his time with the squadron.

It turns out that a the subject here was a bit of a celebrity. This photo which would have been taken in May 1945 depicts Messerschmitt Yellow 17 which was flown was flown by Lt Hans Dorn of 1-JG7. It was captured at Fassberg by No 616 Squadron RAF in May 1945. The aircraft was tested and given an RAF designation before being returned to England. It was later sold to Canada where it was scrapped. By the end of the war the Luftwaffe had quite the range of jet fighters, six in total, although probably only the Messerschmitt 262 was built in any numbers. I will write to the squadron archivists to see if they have more details and perhaps they might be able to recognise the crew.

Gargoyles on Notre Dame Cathedral.

It's stranger than you'd think finally seeing in person a landscape you've seen time after time in other photographers' shots. Rock formation Hvitserkur in northern Iceland (according to legend, a troll turned to stone after being too slow getting under cover by daybreak) is one such place, and even though I knew its general shape and that the surroundings vary drastically with the tide, I didn't expect it would be quite so far off shore off a cliff, since I'd never seen the foreground included in photos. I also didn't know there was a small waterfall leading down to it!

Being on a tight schedule with three other travelers, I didn't have time to make my way down to the shore and get a closer look, but I did try to give my own spin on it by including the falls since I love waterfalls so much. Hopefully I did it justice.

Chickamuga Lake

Chickamauga Lake is a United States reservoir along the Tennessee River created when the Chickamauga Dam, as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority, was completed in 1940. The lake stretches from Watts Bar Dam at mile 529.9 (853 km) to Chickamauga Dam at mile 471.0 (758 km) making the lake 58.9 miles (94.8 km) long. It borders Rhea County, Meigs County, and Hamilton County with 810 miles (1,303 km) of shoreline and two bridges crossing it at State Highway 60 and Highway 30. The lake is commonly used for recreational and outdoor activities, especially at the southern end, due to the high population density surrounding it. It was named after the Chickamauga (tribe) of Cherokees who used to live in the area.

When setting up my laundry shot, the sunrise was such a beautiful, orange color that I wanted to try to capture it.

An abstract capture converted to monochrome with tweak for contrast...

At night, the lighting focused on the edifice of the Lincoln Memorial creates an optical illusion with the shadows of the columns in the appearance of an obelisk, not unlike the Washington Monument at the other end of the reflecting pool. I captured this image of the shadow of my wife taking what appears to be a cell phone picture of the Washington Monument within the Lincoln Memorial. Anyway, I thought it was cool....
