A "lone ranger" captures 2 POWs as well as a crate loaded with supplies.
This is also some of my recent loot!
My little bit of inspiration in a bottle.
You Don't Own Me- As I was working on this shot this song kept comming to mind. I think it fits lol.
Ok so for those would like a little info... This all came to be, becuase I haven't much inspiration the past couple days... but tonight I was talking to Brutus and all of a sudden this idea hit me... So she had to become my muse. Thanks sweety for posing!
I love the way this came out... the only thing I am debating is if I should of used an sl hand rather than a real one for the hand holding the jar... I like it so much though, am actually thinking of turning it into a series... there are some ideas floating around in my head...
I got this camera on trade for some work and didn't want it. Little did I know it would inspire me to try new things, And also taught me that each camera catches a different image in its own way. Although I was excited to upgrade from my Kodak easy share

The tree lights are up! My city just started doing this a couple of years ago. It's so awesome. My shop is right on a main road they widened a few years back and they've been "beautifying" the area for a while.
Now, at holiday time, we get lights on the gingko trees down the middle divider and it looks like the Champs-Élysées!
Thank- you to all who have taken the time to look at my capture, comment and add my capture to your favs.
Very much appreciated. Anita x
I'm captured and bound but I'm not complaining one bit....lol. I think i may enjoy it. A change of scenery is always good some days. Thanks to Cheeky, the accessories and shoes wasn't hard to find to fit the look. I went to the D23 Event and stopped by the Cheeky booth and found the exact items I was looking for. Cheeky released the Eye Mask! and Bound Legs! that are at D23 that I couldn't pass up. I knew I had to get them. Then I had to hit up Whore Courture Fair 8 before it ended to get the Jella Extreme High Heels! which brought the look to a whole new level. Ladies, If you're looking for THAT look, make sure you hit these events up and stop by the Cheeky booths!!!!!!!!!!! As always, happy shopping ladies☺

I went to Amsterdam Zuid to get some work done for my passport and right opposite the office complex was this amazing "park-like" place...I was trying to think of ways to capture this magnificent view on front of me, but couldn't decide on a frame. As I turned around, the sun was in my face (you can probably see little bits of the buildings I was visiting) and at this moment, I saw a lady in a red jacket and it was the perfect moment!

Forster's tern (sterna forsteri) flies off with struggling fish from Shoreline Lake.
Some juvenile Forster's terns were flying around too, but they made no efforts to catch fish. So the fish may well be meant for the fledglings.

Took that capture of the capturing during my daughter's graduation ceremony at the Baltimore Arena. This elderly gentleman made his way slowly down the stairs to the edge of the railing to get a closer shot. From my chair with the 300mm this framed up well as he took his capture. It turned out pretty cool I think so glad I snapped it.
My paternal grandfather John Dawson served with RAF squadron 616 for four years in WW2. He was ground crew and isn't in this photograph but he did bring home with him after the war a small selection of photos taken during his time with the squadron.
It turns out that a the subject here was a bit of a celebrity. This photo which would have been taken in May 1945 depicts Messerschmitt Yellow 17 which was flown was flown by Lt Hans Dorn of 1-JG7. It was captured at Fassberg by No 616 Squadron RAF in May 1945. The aircraft was tested and given an RAF designation before being returned to England. It was later sold to Canada where it was scrapped. By the end of the war the Luftwaffe had quite the range of jet fighters, six in total, although probably only the Messerschmitt 262 was built in any numbers. I will write to the squadron archivists to see if they have more details and perhaps they might be able to recognise the crew.
It's stranger than you'd think finally seeing in person a landscape you've seen time after time in other photographers' shots. Rock formation Hvitserkur in northern Iceland (according to legend, a troll turned to stone after being too slow getting under cover by daybreak) is one such place, and even though I knew its general shape and that the surroundings vary drastically with the tide, I didn't expect it would be quite so far off shore off a cliff, since I'd never seen the foreground included in photos. I also didn't know there was a small waterfall leading down to it!
Being on a tight schedule with three other travelers, I didn't have time to make my way down to the shore and get a closer look, but I did try to give my own spin on it by including the falls since I love waterfalls so much. Hopefully I did it justice.

Chickamuga Lake
Chickamauga Lake is a United States reservoir along the Tennessee River created when the Chickamauga Dam, as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority, was completed in 1940. The lake stretches from Watts Bar Dam at mile 529.9 (853 km) to Chickamauga Dam at mile 471.0 (758 km) making the lake 58.9 miles (94.8 km) long. It borders Rhea County, Meigs County, and Hamilton County with 810 miles (1,303 km) of shoreline and two bridges crossing it at State Highway 60 and Highway 30. The lake is commonly used for recreational and outdoor activities, especially at the southern end, due to the high population density surrounding it. It was named after the Chickamauga (tribe) of Cherokees who used to live in the area.

Part of the Orion Molecular Cloud, an immense star forming region very close to earth, The Flame and Horsehead Nebulas offer a glimpse into the process from which stars and their planets are created. The colorfully lit areas are being irradiated by the young stars which have formed in the recent past and as a result, the ionized hydrogen in the clouds glows. The dark regions, on the other hand, are areas of dusty material in the interstellar medium dense enough to obscure the glow from behind. The Horsehead is such an object and from our vantage point on Earth, it bears a striking resemblance to the head of a horse.
The bright blue star just above The Flame Nebula is the easternmost star in Orion's belt, Alnitak, also known as Zeta Orionis. It is a "blue super-giant" and the brightest such star in the night sky.
Although it appears as a single object it is actually a triple-star (three stars in orbit around each other).
Zeta Orionis is responsible for the glow of the Flame Nebula; it glows so intensely in the ultra-violet range that even at a distance of a hundred light-years, the hydrogen in the cloud becomes ionized like neon in a sign. This radiation is also speeding the development of new stars as the pressure from the radiation further compresses the material. When the density of the material becomes great enough, gravity takes over and collapses the gas into a single object where temperature and pressure increase so dramatically that hydrogen atoms are fused into helium and a new star is born.
When setting up my laundry shot, the sunrise was such a beautiful, orange color that I wanted to try to capture it.

My wife stands poised to capture an approaching summer storm in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.

At night, the lighting focused on the edifice of the Lincoln Memorial creates an optical illusion with the shadows of the columns in the appearance of an obelisk, not unlike the Washington Monument at the other end of the reflecting pool. I captured this image of the shadow of my wife taking what appears to be a cell phone picture of the Washington Monument within the Lincoln Memorial. Anyway, I thought it was cool....
