Every year my Columbine flowers return to fill my garden with purple and pink blossoms. The structure of these flowers reminds me of a porcelain sculpture. Art in the garden....isn't it lovely?

I stopped the car to get this shot, the funny beast couldn't take her eyes off my dog in the car window.

This photograph was taken four days ago at Lower Seletar Reservoir, looking from Heritage Bridge towards the Orchid Country Club and beyond.

The sun was rising above some low lying clouds and vegetation, and illuminated the clouds of different shapes above. The vegetation and lamp posts provided additional interest to the morning landscape.

Best wishes for a relaxing Sunday!

This night photograph was taken from one side of the pool for water fountains in Haixinsha Islet during our visit to Guangzhou early June.

The photograph was taken when the water surface of the pool was mirror-like due to low wind speed. Captivating reflections of the two tallest towers, Guangzhou International Finance Center (on the left) and the taller Chow Tai Fook Finance Centre, and surrounding buildings were captured.

Hamnøy is one of the many captivating islands in Reinefjord, and it's no surprise that it's a favorite in all the advertisements showcasing the allure of the Lofoten. The best way to experience the magic of Hamnoy is from the bridge over the Breisundet. It's the perfect representation of the vision of the Lofoten archipelago: a charming village of red huts and fish drying sheds built on rocks at the foot of the majestic Festhaeltinden mountain.

Witnessing the slow opening of Columbine Flower is something to behold. It’s a very beautiful flower. It is the state flower of the State of Colorado. The intricacy of this flower is mesmerizing. To think that the pieces open up to the beautiful flower shown here. The wonderful color of the modified petal consisting of a blade and spur; stamens and pistil. Flowers are great examples of engineering (lol) in that when they’re closed they look so compact. When flowers are opened they leave us wondering how in the world do they fold together so perfectly. The “Intricacies Are Captivating” to say the least. Thanks for viewing my work. Stay Safe and be kind. Try to witness a flower during the opening stages. Truly fascinating.🙏

"...If I live to see the seven wonders

I'll make a path to the rainbow's end

I'll never live to match the beauty again

The rainbow's edge

So it's hard to find

Someone with that kind of intensity

You touched my hand, I played it cool

And you reached out your hand to me..."

Another shot from a different angle.

Nature’s green beauty with a waterfall on a bright summer day. (Same day five years ago).

Y otro macho de Platycnemis acutipennis que parece tenga intención de saltar sobre mí.

A los Platycnemis también me gusta mirarlos de frente. En este caso un macho de Platycnemis acutipennis.

I also like to look at the Platycnemis head-on. In this case a male of Platycnemis acutipennis.

This night photograph was taken in May this year from the roof top hotel bar just off Botafogo Beach in Rio de Janeiro. Some of the roads were congested due to early evening traffic, and light trails were recorded.

The beautiful Basílica Imaculada Conceição was recorded in the foreground, with Christ the Redeemer and drifting clouds seen on the upper right hand corner of the photograph.

Best wishes for a great new week!

In the frame of the photograph, a captivating image reveals a dimly lit and narrow alleyway in Sarlat-la-Canéda. The atmosphere exudes an aura of mystery and charm as the viewer is drawn into the scene. At the far end of the alley, a group of people can be seen savoring the exquisite cuisine of the region, relishing their meal in an open-air setting. Despite the threatening rain clouds hovering above, they seem undeterred, basking in the joy of the moment.

The focal point of the photograph is the stunning ancient architecture that surrounds the alleyway. The buildings, constructed with aged yellowish stones, stand as silent witnesses to the passage of time. Their weathered surfaces carry the marks of history, lending an air of authenticity and character to the scene. Intricate details, such as ornate carvings and decorative accents, adorn the facades, showcasing the craftsmanship of a bygone era.

The play of light and shadow adds depth and contrast to the image. Soft, muted tones illuminate the alley, while shadows creep along the uneven cobblestones, creating an interplay of textures. The darkness that envelops the alleyway adds to its enigmatic allure, inviting the viewer to explore its hidden corners and secrets.

As the eye is drawn toward the end of the alley, the scene transforms. The ambiance shifts from shadowy to lively, as the vibrant energy of people dining al fresco comes into focus. Tables adorned with checkered tablecloths are filled with patrons indulging in the culinary delights of the region. The aroma of delectable dishes fills the air, mingling with the scent of rain.

Despite the imminent threat of rainfall, the diners seem to embrace the moment, seeking shelter under canopies and umbrellas. Laughter and conversation blend harmoniously, creating a lively soundtrack to accompany the visual feast. The juxtaposition of the dark alley and the lively dining scene creates a captivating contrast, representing the resilience and joy of life even in the face of uncertain weather.

This photograph captures a glimpse into the soul of Sarlat-la-Canéda, revealing its hidden gems and inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in its timeless beauty. It portrays a place where history, gastronomy, and the indomitable spirit of its people intertwine, leaving an indelible impression on all who venture down its narrow streets.

The Moroccan Sahara encompasses a large portion of southern Morocco and has an area of about 252,000 square miles (652,000 square kilometers). With vast swaths of sand dunes, rugged mountains, rocky plateaus, and lush oasis valleys, the desert landscape is breathtaking.

The region was blessed with rare heavy rain on the day before our visit.

How fortunate we arrived a day later with fine weather, got to ride on the camel and watched the sunset on top of a sand dune.

This photo was taken from high up of a very friendly and calm camel.

Wishing you a very productive new week!
