This is the dramatic northern tip of the island of Mallorca. It's one of the most dramatic sceneries in the Mediterranean.

A fire hydrant end cap in low light and close up mode - shot with the SMC 105mm F2.4.
A first attempt at stand development with the Tmax and Neopan100. It's a good guessing game. I left the "stand" for an hour and overdid the fixing by 12 minutes. Busy chatting! The running wash at the end of the cycle was turning purple magenta and the end roll was as clear as acetate. I can barely make out the image......but it still scan out alright. Cant help with the grains though....the film negative was getting so thin.

Liberty Cap is an extinct 37 foot high travertine (limestone) thermal cone that stands alone near the bottom of the terraces of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. It's an entertainingly startling, and iconic, sight out there all by itself. Named for its resemblance to the shape of hats worn during the French revolution, it's also been known by various names referencing its similarity to a certain feature of male anatomy.
No elk for scale in this view, sorry.
I've photographed and posted this hard-to-miss feature several times in the past, but it's so distinct standing out there all by itself, it's worth posting again.
Red-capped Plover (female) & chick

Absolutely loved this moment. I found a very young Red-capped Plover chick on the beach at Buffalo Creek. For the most part it was busy begging its mother for food. However, as the sun was setting on the day, the mother called out to her chick who quickly scurried over & nestled in under her wing as she settled down into a small indentation in the sand. I couldn't believe my eye when the chick slowly pushed its head out from under its mother feathers to keep a watchful eye on me.
I was thrilled to capture such an intimate moment between a mother & her new offspring.
