Amazing canoe sculpture in Steelville, MO. Beautiful and so original. I almost missed it passing through town, but caught a glimpse of it briefly and turned around. What a sight! You never know what you will find in the most remote places. Enjoy the world friends. It will always be full of surprises.
This 1943 (?) Pontiac Coupe really IS bigger than a boat. Cool two-tone and fenders into doors on this Detriot monster.

These two photos are from our day trip before we went to Stratford for the week! You may remember, JJ and I went to Ryde, Isle of Wight for the day. After stomping around on the sandy beach, we continued back for the catamaran passing the Canoe Lake. The clouds were coming over and we didn't expect to see anyone there, but there were a couple of guys floating their boats there!

Canoes @Puka Shell Beach.
Puka Shell Beach or more commonly referred to as Puka Beach is a 800 meter stretch of white sand at Boracay's northern tip. To us, it is Boracay's most beautiful beach. The sand is coarser than White Beach's because of the high content of tiny bits of coral and shells. In the past, the beach also used to be lined with puka shells, which is where it got its name from.
Puka Beach has by far escaped the rampant development seen on Boracay's main beach. Its coconut-lined shores fronted by a big cliff with a forest alongside give visitors a feeling of what the island was like before it became very popular with tourists. Puka Shell Beach is a place where you can still experience the serenity and purity of Boracay.

The Beautiful Manitowish River in the middle of the Northern Highland State Forest near Boulder Junction Wisconsin affords some of the most beautiful canoeing and kayaking anywhere. This is a wilderness area that stretches for many miles untouched by man. It offers scenic beauty around every bend in the river and great fishing. We have a trail along the river that we walk many times throughout the year and I took these pictures on one of our hikes.

It's still swan time at the Canoe Lake. I was actually watching a large group of pigeons that would circle the lake every now and then!

Haida Canoes with elaborate painted designs inside and out.
Canoes were the main means of transporting goods and people up and down the coast. The shape and size varied from one region to the next, each having a unique and distinctive design.
Right one is 16.5-metre (54ft) could take 5 tonnes of cargo and had a crew of 10 paddlers and a steersman. It was equipped with three masts and sails that helped increase its speed when the wind was blowing.
Taken from the Monte Rio Bridge overlooking the Russian River during the heat of the day before the fireworks. Too hot for us to hang around.
Cliche - Holiday. Happy Cliche Saturday, everyone!
Across the water of Burrard Inlet, where you can see buildings in Vancouver, BC, are the First Nations Canoes in full regalia for their local canoe races and celebrations. A golden oldie shot with my first and to date my best digital camera. It took such great photos and they were always clear and crisp with wonderful colours.
I went for a canoe trip on my favorite little fishing lake. After getting out into the lake I looked back and could not believe my eyes. The colors were mind blowing to say the least. The Tamaracks or Larches were such a brilliant golden color you needed sunglasses to look at them. Tamaracks are the only pine tree that loses its needles every year. Each year in October they turn a golden yellow and brown before falling off. My wife is standing in the midst of all that color adding to its beauty. To make it complete I caught some big crappies and bluegills.
