Took this while at a resort with my other half...he watched me with amusement as I wandered around taking photos of everything, and then only being happy with about one or two shots *grin*
This was playing with the aperture on my new cam, particularly like the lines of the shot. Colour was only slightly enhanced using photoshop, and apart from cropping everything else is relatively untouched.
What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other travel. Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle and you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature.

Allegheny Canoe Club outing led by Steve Bianco. Eleven people/boats. We saw two osprey nests with young in them, an immature Bald Eagle, 3 Green Herons, a few Great Blue Herons, and heard Wood Pewees, Towhees, and many other birds. Some of our group also were entertained by a water snake. Charlie and I cut out early and went for ice cream and sweet corn, while the others paddled around the reservoir.
not letting a little 'baptism' in the Rover Frome put him off & now looking like a pro............but canoeing 'wet'.......
The little 'dip' happened very early on & we had paid for an hour so were going to enjoy an hour!...........thankfully it wasn't a cold day!

In Hoonah, Alaska Tlingit carvers are building a series of traditional dugout canoes with the help of Haines Master carver Wayne Price and apprentices Zack James, Steven Price and James Hart. The crew are currently completing a second canoe and both will be paddled in August 2016 to Bartlet Cove as the Huna Tlingits return to their homeland in Glacier Bay for the opening of the Tribal House, Xunaa Shuká HÃt. The canoe project is sponsored by the Hoonah Indian Association. One log was obtained locally on Chichagof Island and donated by the U.S. Forest Service. The second log was purchased from Sealaska and felled on Prince of Wales Island.
