The name that I gave this place........see the story for the "set".

If you look out over the marsh you can see the Atlantic from the campsite.

Booth where the SS man responsible for conducting the roll-call and collecting reports on the number of prisoners took shelter during inclement weather.

The 330,000 square foot, 10 story Crosley Building, in background, Built in 1929, resembling a Crosley Radio, the upper stories housed WLW Radio, with a range from Florida to New York. The lower levels contained the manufacturing facilities of Powell Crosley's empire, including building cars, radios and refrigerators. Crosley sold the building in the 1960 and it's been downhill ever since. Abandoned since the early 2,000's, a new group has plans to restore the building and rent spaces to artists. Located in the Camp Washington, a struggling mixed area.

We went camping over Labor Day weekend off of Lake Michigan and this wild turkey wanders into camp and starts hanging out. The kids at the other site kept feeding her, so she was not about to leave. She had no fear of humans. Here she is resting just a few feet from where we were sitting and reading books. The owner of the camp said she just showed up a couple of days before. I guess she is a quick learner.

Happy Beautiful Bug Butt Thursday have a great day folks ;0)

As a Chinese, this is something really important in my daily life, even in a rough camping trip, I have to have my chopsticks. ^_^

This was one of my most challenging shots I have ever taken. Getting two bears to stay still is extremely difficult. It took a lot of patience on both sides. You can see how much the bears concentrate as they wait for their next meal. Not a perfect shot, but these two warriors stayed pretty still for me. Brooks Camp in Alaska is home to about 100 bears. 20-25 feed daily in the river during the summer salmon run.

Feel free to watch a slideshow of Alaska at www.dlsimages.com/movies.cfm

Never leave the peanut bag open for you never know who will be in it when you look back at it.

non c'è che dire, in una giornata ho fatto tante foto su: tramonti, fiori, nuvole...

ammaliato dalla bellezza della natura.

Tent up and all ready for our stay ........ we even remembered the bucket!!!!

Small falls just along the Lynn Camp Prong Trail, just before the small switchbacks up the junction with the Miry Ridge Trail. I was hoping for some signs of spring, but so far only the moss seems to be getting greener. There were small buds on the trees, so probably another few weeks to go. I usually spend most of my time in the part (Great Smoky Mountains National Park) on the North Carolina side, due to the closer drive from Atlanta. I decided to venture out this trip to the Tennessee side, and wasn't disappointed! The stream scenery along the trail was excellent, and I'll definitely be returning in the next few weeks.

This weekend was our confirmation retreat. Back again at Koinonia after a long absence. Not a lot of kids on this one, but some nice photos.

A play with our led lights during our camp at lac des Chéserys.

A small waterfall hidden in amongst the forest.

I could hear the sound of running water from the hiking trail and this is what I found after exploring.

Needed to get outside today for a hike after yesterday's mini blizzard and snowstorm. Yes, it is very cold here today at about 8 degrees above zero and windy, but I'm dressed for Fairbanks, Alaska! LoL

I was surprised the road was even plowed, but it made hiking a little more pleasant1

Brian brought along some kind of stick that colors the camp fire when you burn it for about 20 minutes. Very cool!

House on Camp Street, Georgetown, Guyana, South America

I just spent two days down here in Glenorchy at a new place called Camp Glenorchy that was built by my friends Paul and Debbi Brainerd. It's really amazing. The rooms are incredible and the attention to detail is great too. There's everything from regular campgrounds for backpackers to first-class rooms for high-end travelers. And the guest kitchen area + common rooms have got to be the best in all of New Zealand... by like a factor of 100. Anyway, I got to know it a few weeks ago when I gave an art talk there in the lecture hall. Then two days ago, I went to go to a poetry reading by the Welsh poet, David Whyte. It was really great... he definitely has a new groupie now.
