I still have some fish left so here is round two of Fish & Chips. This time, I tried a different batter and made thin potato chips, not fries. This turned out pretty good!
This batter was thicker than the last time, giving the fish a little more texture but it's still not exactly what I was looking for.
I sliced the potato on a mandoline to make them wafer thin and crispy. Thank goodness I didn't slice off my fingers!
What will I throw into the deep fryer next? Hmmm...

I love Honey Garlic Ribs and these, done in the air fryer,m turned out great! I also love asparagus and these were also done in the air fryer.
The ribs took 15 minutes, turning them once at 10 minutes and the asparagus took only 6 minutes, turning them at 4 minutes. Both were perfectly done!

Simple is good! Pak Jam Gai, or boiled chicken, is one of those comforting dishes that I grew up with and still enjoy once in a while.
Served with chopped green onions in soy sauce with hot oil poured over it, this dish is simple and delicious. I actually added some chili oil to the sauce, giving it a little kick.
The liquid used to cook this was made into soup with the addition of a few extra ingredients. Again, simple and delicious!

I developed a liking for Kielbasa, a type of savoury sausage from Poland, many years ago. It's usually sold, sliced, in the deli section of supermarkets. Unlike a lot of other deli meats I've had, kielbasa isn't as salty, at least in my experience.
I made a delicious kielbasa sandwich recently, complete with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo on a crusty bun. It certainly hit the spot!

Whether grilling, frying, or stir-frying, pork steaks are so versatile and very inexpensive. It's good to keep a few of them in the freezer for those days when you don't have much time to cook or have no idea what to cook. This was one of those days.
From frozen to fully cooked, this meal took a little over an hour. The meat was thawed under running water, the rice and peas (leftovers) was warmed in the microwave, and I made the coleslaw while the pork was being cooked in the toaster oven. Voila!

BBQ Duck and Roast Pork is probably my all time favourite Chinese BBQ combo. HKS BBQ in the food court at First Markham Place is one of my all-time favourite places. This VERY GENEROUS and DELICIOUS combo with rice and veggies was only $8.05, including a drink and tax! What a deal!

It's been over a month since I've cooked Pork with Muknee and Dung Goo. This dish minus the dung goo (shiitake mushrooms), is a popular dish among Jamaican Hakka Chinese. It's a savoury dish that, unfortunately, is slowly being lost to the next generation.

BBQ Duck and Roast Pork is my favourite combo from Chinese BBQ shops. I could eat this all the time. Hua Xing BBQ, located in a food court at Kennedy and Hwy 7 does a pretty decent version for only $6.99. The pork was moist and the duck was seasoned very nicely. It's hard to beat the value of this tasty meal.

These home made wings, fries, and chili turned out really great and were delicious!
To get the nice crispy texture on the wings, I tossed them in flour, dipped them in an egg wash, back into the flour, and then into the hot oil. Perfection!

When I saw these frozen wings on sale, I had to try them. They cost less than the raw unseasoned ones so why not?
They actually weren't bad, perhaps a bit salty and not as crispy as homemade but definitely convenient and not bad. They even came with a dipping sauce. I had them with some leftover scalloped potatoes.
