Emphasis on the 'problems' part. This is what you get when you make an attorney do math. I realized after I took this shot that my calculations looked a lot like the rantings of the crazy homeless guy from a few posts ago. Who knows, maybe once upon a time he was an attorney who was forced to work with numbers and it drove him stark, raving bonkers.
I spent a good chunk of yesterday afternoon and this morning reviewing the assets and liabilities of a married couple who own a government contracting company and winnowing through their tax returns to try and figure out how much of their collective income was attributable to each spouse. They had applied for certification as a disadvantaged business and I had to see if the program office's determination that the couple was not economically disadvantaged was legally supportable. Which meant I had to do math.
Math is not my friend. It was always my worst (and least favorite) subject in school. It's not a widely known fact, but most lawyers are terrible at anything involving numbers. We tend to react to numbers like Superman does to Kryptonite and vampires do to crosses. If we were good at math we wouldn't go to law school. We'd be doctors or scientists or engineers instead (or in my case, an architect), or something useful like that. But we suck at math so we wind up lawyers by default.
After a lengthy and awkward struggle (and a bit of cheating using the QuickMath automatic math solutions website -- man I love that website), I was finallly able to determine that the couple's adjusted net worth was below the $750,000 threshold but their average two-year incomes were in excess of $200,000, which put them in the upper percentiles of all U.S. taxpayers and therefore precluded them from being deemed economically disadvantaged.
Anyone who wasn't math illiterate probably could've figured that out in about 20 minutes, tops. Making an attorney do math is like giving a monkey a chainsaw -- it might turn out all right, but the odds are it's going to result in something messy and unpleasant.

Introduction :
Since substituting for complex raw ceramic materials involves calculation that many potters are not familiar with and since we have found a way to substitute for most of these we offer to the community of ceramists the results of our research.
This research project originated very spontaneously while calculating to substitute for spodumene by lithium carbonate, kaolin and silica. Our approach is for those who are not familiar with glaze chemistry or for those who do not own a computer. This research project was conducted between 1993 and 1995, before the popularization of computer glaze softwares and home personal computers. Even at the present time only 20% of Quebec households own a computer and only 6% of them have a link to Internet (1997).
After succeeding our first substitution for spodumene the results were sent to W. Hunt, editor with Ceramics Monthly, who really appreciated our method. His letter of May 19, 1993 was a real boost for us: “I appreciated you sending us this fascinating discussion on substituting for spodumene. With your permission, I’d like to use parts of this in our Letters column”. Then we decided to apply our method to the substitution for feldspars, felspathoids and other raw materials, as you will see later. The results were sent to W. Hunt on a slow basis, in a “chapter by chapter” like manner, as new hypotheses came to our mind. Then on March 17, 1994 he send his final comments on what we had sent thus far. The chapter on lepidolite was done after receiving his last letter but the same methodology was applied.
We used general formulas rather than complex analysis and carried 3 decimal places, rounding the fourth on the third. We used the notional oxide KNAO. We also used a few other personal tricks. Our goal was to obtain substitutions in which new unity formulas were the closest possible to the original ones, which we achieved on each occasion.
Since the formulas of feldspars and feldspar-like materials are somewhat similar to those of glazes we used this last principle to find adequate substitutions. The idea was to consider the complex materials to be substituted for as glazebase unity formulas to be converted to batch recipes, then they were divided by 100 to be inserted easily in glaze recipes.
According to the method for glaze calculation: “Glaze calculation, theory and objectives”; “Glaze calculation using materials containing more than one oxide” and “Calculating glaze formulas from batches or recipes” (Daniel Rhodes, Clay and glazes for the potter, revised edition, 1973) we used different materials to achieve our goal which was to make a mixture having, once fired, the formula of feldspars and feldspar-like materials.
Naturally some minor adjustments had to be made, by the method of trials and errors (on a mathematical basis), to the results of the first try (first substitution) to obtain a satisfactory fit. Then when necessary and/or possible, the results of the second try (second substitution) were tested a few more times in different recipes to eliminate possible good results due solely to chance.
Finally we applied our method to materials far less complex than feldspars and feldspar-like materials.
Sincerely
Edouard Bastarache

Dear Mr. Bastarache:
We are truly amazed at all these submissions that you have sent concerning ceramic materials substitutions. I can’t think of the last time someone sent us this much data – enough for a substantial book. These texts go beyond anything we could publish in Ceramics Monthly, so I’m wondering if you’d allow us to post these in our research library where the staff or other potters visiting the library would have access to your research. Of course, if you would rather us return this material to you we would, should you request it.
I thank you for thinking of us with all your detailed and thoughtful research; I look forward to hearing from you further as to its disposition.
Sincerely,
William Hunt

Thank you so much for sending the books with Michel. They are
amazingly thorough and fill an important void in my library. As both
potter and educator very concerned with the use of materials it is
great to have them. I have known about them for some years, but, as I
will soon be slowing down on the teaching end of things, hadn't got
around to getting them. When Michel was coming for a visit and
sometimes works in your studio, it seemed like an ideal time to add
them to my library.
Much appreciated, thank you.

Invaluable resource
I have to admit, when I bought this book, part of my reasons were to
support an online friend and fellow clayarter, by adding his book to my
collection. It was very pleasant to receive the book and realize what a
wonderful addition to my clay book library it is! I wanted to share my
reactions by sending my review.
Being a potter who mixes glazes from scratch, I sometimes will go to make
up a recipe and realize that I'm missing one of the ingredients or don't
have quite enough. This book is an invaluable resource for such a
situation where quick re-stocking of chemicals is not always an option.
The book is arranged by chemical being substituted for, with variations in
the ingredients used as replacement. Monsieur Bastarache has generously
shared many recipes, showing a sample substitution for each variation.
Potters are known for sharing glaze recipes and in this age of electronic
communication, many recipes are being shared online far and wide around the
world. Some of the glaze ingredients are not available in all parts of the
world, without exhaustive shipping costs. With this book as resource,
potters in areas where some chemicals aren't common can easily substitute
and get similar results on their clay pieces.
The book is spiral bound with a good quality cover for convenience and ease
of use in the studio. I would like to commend Edouard for creating this wonderful
reference.

A tribute by a friend
Dear Édouard,
Most sincere congratulations for the realization of your book. It is really the results of a maniac of research, a mad one about ceramics like there is no one else in Quebec. I have read with pleasure your new book and it was for me a return on my past as a technologist of ceramics. I am thus happy to share your joy of this publication, that will incite ceramists who prepare their glazes, to launch out towards creative adventures of new shades and colors. As for the cover of your book, accept my congratulations because it is a very beautiful.

Options. Isn't that what it's all about?
If you're a potter who mixes glazes from scratch, realizing that you're missing one of the ingredients or don't have quite enough can be an inconvenience. Substitutions for Raw Ceramic Materials is an invaluable resource for this situation when quick re-stocking of chemicals is not a timely choice.

Tour de force
Edouard Bastarache's book « Substitutions for Raw Ceramic Materials » is a 'tour de force' of substitutions of particular ceramic materials with others. The book is the result of a research project undertaken between 1993 and 1995 before computer glazing programs became widely available and is targeted to those ceramic artists and potters who don't have computer access to help them with otherwise complex calculations in materials substitutions.
This is a comprehensive publication on glaze materials substitutions and includes 10 chapters filled with glaze recipies using the sustitution method. Both the original and substituted recipies are provided. Materials substituted include Spodumene, Petalite, Lepidolite, Potash Feldspars, Cornish Stone, Sodium/Calcium Spars (Kona F-4), Potassium/CalciumSpars (G-200) , Plastic Vitrox, Volcanic Ash, Dolomite, Wollastonite, Pryophyllite and Talc. Three hundred pages contain several hundred glazes. In a typical glaze materials substitution, Custer Feldspar might be substituted by Nephelene Syenite and Silica, or Spodumene by Lithium Carbonate, Silica and Kaolin, etc.
Edouard Bastarache lives in Quebec, Canada, and has a colorful history. He studied surgery, internal medicine and neuroendecrine physiology and has been a consultant in occupational and environmental medicine for 25 years. At the same time as his medical studies, he studied ceramics under Julien Cloutier at La Boutique d'Argile (The Clay Shop) and later also taught at the same school. Bastarache now lives in the Sorel-Tracy region of Quebec, near the St. Lawrence river. He uses waste materials from steel plants located in the area to color many of his glazes and clays. He fires most of his work to cone 9 1/2 in reduction in a 60 cubic foot downdraft gas kiln.
His book Substitutions for Raw Ceramic Materials is the result of a total of 38 years dabbling in ceramics and a 3 year research project.

Hello Édouard,
The more I learn about the world of potters, the more I think that your idea to write a book on raw materials substitutions is brilliant. None or only a few potters calculate or convert mineral chemical formulas. It must annoy them to calculate, or then they do not know how.

According the first calculations before 2007 the building should cost about 77 million €. By 2013 the cost for the taxpayer amounted to 789 million €. The project should have been finshed years ago, but it still is under construction.

"MS Cap San Diego is a general cargo ship, situated as a museum ship in Hamburg, Germany. Notable for its elegant silhouette, it was the last of a series of six ships known as the white swans of the south atlantic, and marked the apex of German-built general cargo ships before the advent of the container ship and the decline of Germany's heavy industry.
The Cap San Diego was built and launched by Deutsche Werft in 1961 for Hamburg Süd as the last of a series of six ships. The 159 m, 10000 dwt ship ran a regular schedule between Germany and South America, completing 120 round trips until 1981. After being sold and running under different names and flags of convenience as a tramp trader, the run-down ship was scheduled for scrapping in 1986, when it was bought by the city of Hamburg."

Simulation of water ripple. It would be useful to hide the tripod and stitch failure.
In the calculation, I put a virtual nadir plain and a virtual zenith plain. Zenith plain contacts with the projection sphere at the zenith, while the distance from center of sphere to nadir plain is variable. In this picture nadir plain is placed just below the center of the sphere. Then upper hemisphere is projected onto the zenith plain and the reflection in the nadir plain is calculated. In the calculation, i put a periodic perturbation to the reflection angle, which produces the ripple. Reflection image is cut in appropriate shape in Photoshop and translucently merged with the original equirectangular image.
See in Immersive viewer how it works.
The pixel at latitude θ' North is projected to θ South in reflection image by the following formula:
L/tan(θ) + (1+L)/tan(θ+δ) = 1/tan θ',
where L is the distance from center of sphere to nadir plain. δ is the perturbation angle and I defined as δ=A sin 2πNx, where x=L/tanθ.
Such a post-processing is possible because orientational information is conserved in equirectangular image. Even in regular retilinear shot, it will be possible if lens FOV is known.
The program is written in C, but it will be easy to be written in mathmap.
Easter Holiday, Roadtrip Idar-Oberstein
Easter (Old English: Ēostre; Greek: Πάσχα, Paskha; Aramaic: פֶּסחא Pasḥa; from Hebrew: פֶּסַח Pesaḥ) is the central feast in the Christian liturgical year.[1] According to the Canonical gospels, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. His resurrection is celebrated on Easter Day or Easter Sunday[2] (also Resurrection Day or Resurrection Sunday). The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between AD 26 and 36, traditionally 33.
Easter marks the end of Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The last week of the Lent is called Holy Week, and it contains Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter is followed by a fifty-day period called Eastertide or the Easter Season, ending with Pentecost Sunday.
Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the northern hemisphere's vernal equinox.[3] Ecclesiastically, the equinox is reckoned to be on March 21 (even though the equinox occurs, astronomically speaking, on March 20 in most years), and the "Full Moon" is not necessarily the astronomically correct date. The date of Easter therefore varies between March 22 and April 25. Eastern Christianity bases its calculations on the Julian Calendar whose March 21 corresponds, during the 21st century, to the 3rd of April in the Gregorian Calendar, in which calendar their celebration of Easter therefore varies between April 4 and May 8.
Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover by much of its symbolism, as well as by its position in the calendar. In many European languages, the words for "Easter" and "Passover" are etymologically related or homonymous.[4] The term "Pascha", from the same root, is also used in English to refer to Easter.
Easter customs vary across the Christian world, but decorating Easter eggs is a common motif. In the Western world, customs such as egg hunting and the Easter Bunny extend from the domain of church, and often have a secular character.

The Principality of Stavelot-Malmedy was a principality of the Holy Roman Empire. Princely power was exercised by the Benedictine abbot of the imperial double monastery of Stavelot and Malmedy, founded in 651. At 600 km2 (230 sq mi), it was the second-smallest territory in the Empire, after the Duchy of Bouillon at 140 km2 (54 sq mi).[1] Along with Bouillon and the Prince-Bishopric of Liège, it was one of only three principalities in the region that were never a part of the Southern Netherlands,[2] all having been a part of the Lower Rhenish Imperial Circle, rather than the Burgundian Circle.[3]
In 1795 the principality was abolished and its territory was incorporated into the French département of Ourthe.[4] The Congress of Vienna in 1815 assigned Stavelot to the United Kingdom of the Netherlands[5] and Malmedy became part of the Prussian district of Eupen-Malmedy.[5] Both are currently parts of the Kingdom of Belgium — since the 1830 Belgian Revolution and the 1919 Treaty of Versailles respectively.
Establishment
Saint Remaclus
Saint Remaclus founded the Abbey of Stavelot on the Amblève river circa 650[5][6] on lands occupying the border between the bishoprics of Cologne and Tongeren,[7] this territory previously having been part of the Frankish Empire. A charter of Sigebert III, king of Austrasia entrusted Remaclus with both monasteries of Stavelot and Malmedy a few kilometres eastwards in the Ardennes forest, "a place of horror and solitary isolation which abounds with wild beasts".[8][9][10] Sigebert granted forest land and his Mayor of the Palace, Grimoald the Elder, was charged with furnishing money to build the two monasteries and continued to foster these communities with personal gifts and means from the king.[8]
The monastery of Malmedy is considered by the historians and the hagiographers to be slightly older than the monastery of Stavelot,[11] with the town claiming foundation in 648.[12] Malmedy is listed on earlier maps than Stavelot and the commission appointed in 670 by Childeric II, in order to delimit the abbey territory, started from Malmedy (Latin: de Monasterio Malmunderio).[7] Afterwards, the territory of the abbey was increased westwards so that Stavelot became the geographical center and the capital of the principality.[7]
The site of Malmedy was probably already settled before the foundation of the abbey, despite etymology seeming to indicate Malmedy may have been unsuitable for settlement.[7] Mal(u)mund(a)-arium was "a place with winding waters" or, most probably, Malmund-arium, a "bad confluency".[7] The Warchenne was partially canalised and its banks strengthened, before which Malmedy was often flooded.[7]
The first church in Stavelot was built by abbot Godwin and, on 25 June 685, was dedicated to the saints Martin, Peter and Paul.[13] The relics of Saint Remaclus were held in this new church.[14] The abbey church in Malmedy was dedicated to St Benedict.[10]

I'm back to the world of the living! At least for the time being, until my next exam. By my complex trigonometric calculation, I've got three weeks until the clock resets, and anxiety settles back in before my CSET exams.
But let's talk present tense. If you haven't noticed, I'm posting this installment of my 52-week project late in the week, At the end of the week, in fact. Cutting it close.
Now past tense; This past Thursday I had my CBEST examination, so the days leading up to the exam were spent taking care of easy loads of consistent studying. The day of the exam was very stressful due to reasons out of my hands -the exam conductors computers were having technical difficulties, and my exam was nearly cancelled. With some persistence, patience, and two hours of waiting time, things pulled though. I took the exam as planned, somewhat. At least I did not need to reschedule for another day as some others did.
I definitively passed two out of three sections of the exam -my results were provided to me upon completion of the exam. The remaining third section has been submitted to a committee for review and scoring. This scoring will take about two to three weeks, after which time I will receive my score by mail. A great way to start the test taking spree I am on!
Now future tense. This entire month has been amazing, and the upcoming month of May will only prove to be exponentially more amazing. Trust me, while these two months will prove to be months of progress [hopefully], they will also be months of change ... and believe you me, May has got it going on. Stay tuned for updates on that!
I remember a high school teacher once telling me that everything changes, except for change itself. Periodically, I do find myself having a hard time dealing with change. Dealing with cumbersome re-acclimation to new circumstances. I really do my best to accept it though -partially because more times than not, there is nothing we can do about change. When it comes, sometimes we are forewarned, other times it sneaks up on us. And when change occurs, we're forced to either stay stuck in our ways and fail and stress, or adapt and learn to lean in to the turns. I continually insist on the latter option.
It's been a while since I've been able to get out and shoot, and practice some strobist work! This photo was taken at an abandoned postal station. I'd imagine this place serves as a shelter for homeless persons at times, or a smoking spot for cannabis friendly people; this place had a very grimy feel to it. But today, this place served as the site for my self portrait.
The only thing that makes me sad right now is that some gusts of wind blew over both of my light stands, and broke both of my umbrellas :( They're still usable, but by the looks of them their lifespan has been significantly reduced. But on the upside, I should be happy that none of my speedlites were damaged.

The paper illustrates the computational capability of the collisional-radiative model ATMED CR for calculating the temporal evolution of accurate atomic populations including nlj-splitting, mean charge and atomic processes rates. The present work contains computed time-dependent plasmas with the average atom code ATMED CR of neon and aluminium created with X-ray Free Electron Lasers proposed in the 10th Non-LTE Code Comparison Workshop. The results for plasma properties can be considered as very precise, according to the electronic temperature profiles registered in experiments of laser-created plasmas with duration times of picoseconds and femtoseconds. As a consequence, the Crank-Nicholson implicit numerical iterative temporal module of ATMED CR can be considered a new rapid method for simulating this type of plasmas, avoiding some of the typical difficulties that appear in interpreting results of free electron laser experiments, as very different temporal scales in NLTE regime, enormous matrices of detailed collisional radiative codes, etc. In this paper, it is also presented a representative sample of steady state iron plasmas focusing the attention on two issues. First, the huge computation capability extension up to millions of plasmas with the implementation of a collisional radiative balance in the relativistic average atom model ATMED. Second, it will be addressed the good agreement of atomic and radiative properties not only with respect to very recent experimental measurements of laboratories and High Energy Density facilities, but also to the last theoretical developments in quantum mechanics of statistical methods, as new codes based on the self consistent Hartree-Fock-Slater model for the average atom which in turn solve the Schrödinger’s or Dirac’s equations of radial wave functions. The new codes have been validated with some state of the art models as OPAL, SCO-RCG, STA, CASSANDRA, LEDCOP, THERMOS, etc. The results for plasma properties can be considered as relatively precise and optimal, being checked fundamentally the high sensitivity of calculations to changes in regime, local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) or non-LTE (NLTE), electronic and radiation temperatures, dilution factor, matter or electronic density and plasma length. The systematic theoretical investigation is carried out through comparison of calculations performed with a wide set of atomic collisional radiative codes with detailed configurations or codes of the average atom formalism. Some transmissions computed with ATMED CR using UTA (Unresolved Transition Array) formalism are also checked with respect to very recent experimental measurements of laboratories.

This is a photograph from the 4th and final round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 27th May 2015 at 20:00. The weather was perfect for running and racing again and gave bright sunshine with some breeze. The weather conditions were favourable for runners this evening. As this was the final night of a very successful league there were many category prizes up for grabs with runners having to ensure they ran their races to gain the required finish times for the overall calculations. There was a great atmosphere at the finish as spectators cheered on the runners. This year's 5KM is ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. The final 1KM is within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification means that the race offers a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years. In the prize giving and awards in Belvedere House Cafe there were refreshments served for runners and this brought the curtain down on the Road League for 2015.
The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Runners can also choose to just run one race without being considered for the overall league placings. Over 330 people took part in tonight's event bring the total from the four nights to so far to well over 1,400 runners. As with all of the previous weeks the new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 is now over but has continued successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series. Despite the bright evenings the photographic conditions in Belevedere are difficult so this photograph is part of a smaller than usual photograph set as there were many blurred photographs this evening.
The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....
We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.
This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.
I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Reverberating to a different place and time, what remains of these great docks and relics from the shipbuilding era, lie abandoned and detached from the city; economic conditions and inaction have until recently spared it from the risk of being over developed as so often happens to land where profit calculations determine the highest number of dwellings that can be fitted onto a site. Nature has taken hold, and a vast expansive wilderness, remains fragile and disconnected from the city and the river to which it belongs. The City Development plan intends the land to be used for approx 700-800 homes most of which are owner occupied, which could be seriously over developing the site, offering little to the existing community in Govan, not least to mention further removal of Govan's cultural heritage in the wake of the cranes being removed from its skyline. An appropriate form of housing may well be a welcome addition to the area and encourage a high quality, and imaginative environment, however despite being in private ownership, there is room for more than purely housing on this site; its strategic riverside location is ideal for Govan and the wider city to enjoy. Somewhere for Glasgow to be proud of and that allows the city to breathe. Hopefully sense will prevail and a huge asset to the city in terms of heritage, open space and potential for expanding on community facilities and creative regeneration in Govan will be recognised. I can imagine an urban park, a gateway into Govan, an imaginative and creative open public space that connects the city to nature and to its past, opening up the area to new vistas, encouraging new activity and an environment that reinterprets heritage with water side development, new lighting, landscape and public art. The creative activity, networking and collaboration between individuals, grassroot organisations, and development agencies has created rich dialogue re development proposals, and it would be a great testament to Glasgow and Govan's industrial legacy if the land provides a stage and platform for creative activity to harness ideas in collaboration with required needs within the community. There’s something very special about this place; questions need to be asked over what is appropriate for its future. The neglect and lack of maintenance that its current situation presents is not purely remedied by building houses alone. Its tranquility is part of its attraction - at odds with a heavy industrial past and yet disheartening as this space should not lie vacant and unsafe. Glasgow deserves more. As an integral symbol of the industrial grounds on which the city grew, its people should be able to connect with and enjoy this place, have a voice in its future and trust that the city will act in their interests. A new central and accessible landscape to confront the past and look forward would be a brave and tremendous insertion into the city.
Current housing proposals put forward by the site's owners include a process to consult with the wider public ( starting with a drop in exhibition March 4th ) with commitment being shown to developing additional ideas and open space within the development. These meetings should come at the start of any process for a site and hopefully a willingness to listen and modify proposals will be shown www.facebook.com/GravingDocks2017/

Based on photo sampling calculations more than 1,680 people had gathered by 12:15pm in Spaight's Plaza for a UWM United rally. Other sign holders and speakers voiced support for Solidarity of Workers, Teachers, Graduate Students, and Students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and candidates in an upcoming election on April 5th for Milwaukee County Supervisor, and for Wisconsin State Supreme Court. Numeracy skills are a high priority in education and practice. The nurse is the last link in the chain to protect the patient from medication administration errors, and is responsible for every dose that they administer and are held to the five rights of medication administration: right medication, right dose, right route, right patient, and right time. To enhance accuracy and confidence in drug administration, Dosage Calculations Made Incredibly Easy! is a complete and clear guide to calculating drug dosages. The text covers basic maths (fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions and percentages), measurement systems and practical calculations.
Additional chapters cover paediatric, obstetric and critical care dosage calculations. There is vital information on recording drug administration, routes of administration, and reading drug labels, and preventing errors associated with each of these. Dosage Calculations Made Incredibly Easy! promotes awareness of all of these issues through the use of realistic examples and self-test questions throughout.
This text is for all degree and diploma nursing students who are mastering numeracy skills to ensure safe practice, and qualified nurses doing post-registration numeracy courses.
After I made the astronomical calculations through the NASA page for the moon and knowing the values of the moon’s position angle, I took a picture of the April full moon (17/4/2022) because it is the full moon closest to the angle of the position of the moon, which will partially eclipse the sun(25/10/2022) from our sky..
I waited for the eclipse to take a picture of the edge of the moon and the dark mountains and match it with the similar full moon to show the image of the lunar day and night identical.
After preliminarily assessing NASA’s calculations for the moon’s positional angle, I photographed April’s full moon knowing it will be the closest angle as the one on the day of the partial eclipse.
I set up the equipment on the day of the eclipse hoping to capture the moon’s edge, with the contrast of the sun highlighting the moon’s mountains. I matched it with the April full moon to show how the positions are identical, and uncovering the minute details along the edge that aligned beautifully.
Way of calculating the width of the third pleat of a twist. Blue triangle has to be twisted. Thick black lines are mountain folds which meet in twist center C. Paralell to them, thin black lines are walley folds of pleats which will extend from twist. The first two pleats are of the same width (here indicated wit a). Half of the angle between them (here is example of 135 degrees - that's 2φ, so φ is 67,5 degrees) is used in formula. Formula works theoretically from 0 to 180 degrees, altough in practice I estimate that useful range is roughly from 45 to 160 degrees.
As we know, at 120 degrees all three pleats are of the same width (as in triangular grid) and make classic triangle twist (with equiliteral triangle). If the angle between two equal pleats is less than 120 degrees, then pleat x is wider (x>a), if the angle is bigger, then, as here, plat x is narrower (x<a). Here a triangle is isosceles and meeting point of three pleats on the backside is at point C, mirrored across triangle's axis of symmetry.
