Caesars Palace is one of Las Vegas's largest and best-known landmarks. It was opened in 1966 by Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin, who sought to give guests a sense of life during the Roman Empire. It contains many statues, columns and iconography typical of Hollywood Roman period productions, including a 20-foot statue of Augustus Caesar near the entrance. The hotel features more than 3,500 rooms, 22 restaurants and 10 bars/lounges.
From the outset, Caesars Palace has been oriented towards attracting high rollers. The casino facilities include table games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, Spanish 21, mini-baccarat, Pai Gow and Pai Gow poker. The casino also features a 4,500 square-foot, 24-hour poker room and 1,342 slot machines. The hotel has operated as a host venue for live music and sports entertainment. In addition to holding boxing matches since the late 1970s, Caesars also hosted the Caesars Palace Grand Prix from 1981 to 1982. The main performance venue is The Colosseum, a theater that seats 4,296 people and contains a 22,450 square-foot stage.

Caesar Potato Salad
3 cups new potatoes, cooked and chopped
1/2 cup caeser salad dressing
Parmesan cheese, shredded
2 green onions, chopped
4 hard boiled eggs
4 slices bacon, cooked
Toss potatoes with dressing and a few handfuls of the Parmesan cheese.
Top with green onions, hard boiled eggs and bacon.
Recipe Notes: I usually double this recipe because this salad goes fast. I just wash and cut up the potatoes before putting them on to boil. Leaving the skins on saves some time. Plus I hate peeling potatoes. I would say all measurements here are just a guideline. Want more bacon/eggs/onion/cheese, go ahead. I won't tell the potato salad police. For the dressing I usually buy a strong flavoured garlic dressing such as Renee's. For a big bowl I use the entire bottle and then add mayo until I get the desired consistency. I've also used finely chopped onion in place of the green onion in a pinch.

Samantha made us vegan caesar salad dressing by making her own vegan mayo, then making the dressing from that. Very garlicy... yum! I topped mine with walnuts, and they had organic croutons.

This coin was struck by a military mint in North Africa around 46-47 BC, at the time when Caesar was pursuing the remaining Optimates; the followers of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus. Pompey had already been defeated in the battle of Pharsalus 48 BC, and was murdered while fleeing to Egypt soon after. However, the remaining Optimates, not ready to give up fighting, clustered in the African provinces and organized a resistance. Its leaders were Marcus Cato (the younger) and Caecilius Metellus Scipio. Other key figures in the resistance were Titus Labienus, Publius Attius Varus, Lucius Afranius, Marcus Petreius and the brothers Sextus and Gnaeus Pompeius (Pompey's sons). King Juba I of Numidia was a valuable local ally.
Titus Labienus, Caesars former general from the campaigns in Gaul, first defeated Caesar in the battle of Ruspina (modern Tunisia), with a much larger force. Caesar may have lost up to 1/3 of his men there. Only a month later, Caesar struck back with a decisive victory against Quintus Caecillius Metellus Scipio at Thapsus:

This coin was made for Caesars loyal legions. As it is uncirculated, I can only guess it was the property of a legionaire who lost his life in one of the battles (perhaps against Scipios elephants?), after having buried his valuables beforehand. It is also possible, however, that this coin comes from a larger find, as this type has occured frequently on auctions the last year.
This coin has the diademed head of Venus on obverse. Venus, the goddess of love, beauty and fertility, was said to be Caesars ancestor. The portrait of Venus occurs frequently on the obverses of Caesars early coinage.
On the coins reverse, Caesar goes even longer reminding us about his ancestry, giving us the image of Aenas, carrying his father and a palladium:
