Really a Christmas cactus. This is part of one that is at the farm. It is over 100 years old, and belonged to Stan Thomas in Forest, Ontario.

To me it is strange to see cactus blooming in the Galilee, where everything was hilly and green (northern part of Israel).

In the front of our house we have a lively cactus garden. There were so many blooms, like thirty! But I felt in danger because there were also so many wasps. I took three pictures before I decided I had to get out of harms way.
