Taken at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County. The wildflowers weren't at their peak, but they were still lovely.

Here's my contribution to cactus Monday - a Thanksgiving cactus in bloom. Watercolor and ink. And, drum roll please....16 days of "sketch everyday." Will she make it until the end of the month? Stay tuned!

Makoshika State Park was in full bloom in the spring of 2010--I have never seen a spring like it! Everything was so beautiful.

I'm not much for still lifes, but I gave this a try. Just a couple of weeks ago my wife mentioned her sister's Christmas cactus was blooming and her's was not. It is now. I guess it knows Christmas is near. LARGE. Also I think it's cool that the wax on the candle looks a little like an angel's wing.

Makes me a happy camper to find cactus in bloom
