Cables run in troughs in the streets, pulled by large electric motors. The cable cars grab them to move alone the streets without needing power or motors themselves.
Just about ready to begin the arm shaping on the right front. Then, it is onto the home stretch - sleeves & button band & collar. I expect to meet my Mother's Day deadline.

Mini Cabled Scarf
Knitted out of some FABULOUS Patons Soy Wool Stripes yarn. Huge thank you to my sister for the yarn. I love it. I'm going to knit some fingerless gloves out of the yarn to match the scarf. Same cabled pattern.
And how I love the cabled look. I was so scared to try the cable needle expecting it to not work and be incredibly difficult, but I was pleasantly surprised. So easy and looks great.
Kyushu Electric Company is putting a new line over the mountains so they have set up a cable system for moving gear. A lift helicopter brought is bringing up most of the equipment.
I once met some guys that work on the lines in the mountains expecting the pylons. They were in great shape!
