End of the Hyde-Powell cable car line. Cars are spun around by hand on this turntable before loading up again. Keith and I queued here for about 30 minutes before giving up and catching a taxi instead
Cables run in troughs in the streets, pulled by large electric motors. The cable cars grab them to move alone the streets without needing power or motors themselves.
Even with barely a cloud, sunsets on Cable Beach are still breath taking. I feel they offer a unique moment for reflection and serenity. These rocks weren't here until the Cat 5 Cyclone Rosita came through and washed the sand away. Many people were upset, but honestly. I love the rocks. They're a integral part of the beach I grew up playing on. - Taken on 2nd of January 2021

SF Muni Cable Cars of the Powell-Mason line, about to enter the turnaround at Bay St. I wanted to get pictures of the turntable and a video of them turning a car around (they do it by hand!), but this was the last picture my poor little camera battery would allow for the day. Sad.
