I bought this a few years ago. Ironically, it was sitting in a cellar in Europe and had to be imported back to the US. It was around $100 less whatever my employee discount was at the time. I wanted to compare it to my 1994 Dominus, and tonight was the perfect time to open both. It was big, chewy, round, and plenty of bold personality. Fine to have opened 20 years later. We enjoyed the mini vertical.

「グランジ」で有名なペンフォールズ。サントリーが扱っているだけあって、入手し易い銘柄だ。このクヌンガ・ヒルのシラーズ/カベルネは、パーカーから「Australia's Greatest Wine Bargains For Less Than $12（$12以下のお買い得オーストラリアワイン）」にもリストアップされる、コストパフォーマンスの高いワインとして知られる。
前回飲んだPrivate Binは外れだったが、これはペンフォールズらしい味わいだった。ベリー系の果実味が全面に出ていて、シラーズらしいペッパーのニュアンスも感じられる。酸味、渋みもたっぷりあって、とにかく「パワフル」なワイン。その分、若干飲みにくい感もあるが、「濃い」ワインを飲みたい気分の時におすすめだ。
