Recently renumbered from (D)1795, Class 47 47314 heads south into Oxford station with a train of ballast hoppers (possibly GWR designed ZLV Herrings) - c.1974.

The C-404H has a strengthened chassis and armoured "cocoon" around the crew cabin, and due to this is noticably bulkier and more boxy than the standard C-404. To cope with the increased weight, the C-404H also sports a more powerful engine.

This Lifter was destroyed by fire in October 1986 after it hit a light pole at Travis AFB while taxiing. A fuel tank ruptured, the fuel ignited, the crew escaped, the plane was toast.

The Museum's PT-26 Cornell was constructed by Fleet in 1943 and served with 3 Flying Instructor School and 11 EFTS. The Cornell's restoration to flying condition was especially challenging because the aircraft was in a "basket case" condition when retirees of Fleet Aerospace (formerly Fleet Aircraft) began the rebuild. The CWH Cornell is called the Spirit of Fleet II and is dedicated in memory of the 1000th PT-26 that was manufactured in 1943 by Fleet; the employees donated the 1000th Cornell to Canada's war effort
