The Burda Style Button Up Steampunk Vest (10/2010) (www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/button-up-steam...).

Originally a muslin, but I liked it. Hand-embroidered back before finishing the bottom hem. Lined with left-over numbers material. And I love the buttons. Not sure what the outer material is - a friend gave it to me when she was clearing out! Feels sort of linen-like, but I don't think it is.

Pretty, eh? J'aime ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

This guerrilla knitter wrapped tree was full of great details to shoot - we all liked it!

Buttoned up for the winter.

Back to school today, and early mornings are cold, especially when you are overtired and haven't had your coffee yet. This is my favorite coat. Classic plaid pea coat, with a big shiny buckle.

PS. Douglas Coupland is on the Hour tonight.... I worship his books... hence the early post :P YAY

Cheltenham Wetlands Park was once part of the U.S. Naval Radio Station, Cheltenham, Maryland. It was commissioned in 1939.

“The original antenna fields, comprising creosoted wood telephone poles and metal antenna towers, were located in the acreage surrounding the buildings. All metal antenna poles have been removed from the installation. Some abandoned creosoted wood poles remain in the wooded and swampy sections of the installation.

Established as a radio receiving station before World War II, the installation's mission evolved to administration during the Cold War era.”

Doodle, no eraser, original design and ended up as a concept drawing for my fashion collection "Button Up."

Theme was somewhat inspired by the circus... ironically, I hate clowns but I like this drawing =)

Button up your coats Mounties, for the first snow of Winter has descended upon Cresson.

You just wrap the leather around your wrist and button it up.

Is it too tight? Well then… loosen the knot!

Too loose? Just tighten it up.

Simple!

Thanks for the views and comments. This one made explore!

We’re getting a little creative and doing a little good, because this year’s holiday card just got that much ‘cooler’.

We’re designers; so, we know all too well that there’s little better than a warm cup of coffee! Well, except for a free warm cup of coffee. This holiday season, enjoy the next few rounds on us!

While we’re in the giving spirit, we also know all too well that the Washington, D.C. homeless in our own backyard struggle to stay warm during the cold winter nights; and, a cup of coffee just isn’t enough!

This year we start our “Button-Up” campaign; sending a little something out to our family, friends and clients, as well as giving a little more back to our community! In addition to a few good cups, we’ve also donated the same value on your behalf to Martha’s Table; a local organization aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty by providing educational programs, food, clothing and enrichment opportunities.

I stitched it on opalescent fabric and left out the background (sky and snow). Stitched with DMC (not quite as charted). Finished as an ornament for Bonnie.
