The Sutter Buttes are a small circular complex of eroded volcanic lava domes which rise as buttes above the flat plains of the Central Valley of California in the United States. The highest peak, South Butte, reaches about 2,130 feet (650 m) above sea level. The Buttes are located just outside of Yuba City, California in the Sacramento Valley, the northern part of the Central Valley. They are named for John Sutter, who received a large land grant from the Mexican government. The Sutter Buttes are sometimes referred to as the world's smallest mountain range.

Contrary to popular belief, cigarette butts are NOT biodegradable! Cigarette butt waste is a huge environmental issue, with a global impact -- it is both unsightly and unhealthy.
I found this little bug in the garden today. He was inside an Iris I opened up to take a photo. I don't think you can tell by this photo but his butt in the sunlight shined bright metallic gold....as gold as any Bob Mackie gown that Vanna has ever worn.
Making fun of those alien "minifigs" from the Mars Mission theme never gets old. And yes, I know they weren't really martians, but this is very close to what martians in the DC universe look like.

(Grouse butts are artificial barriers that hunters hide behind to remain unseen whilst shooting grouse on the open moorlands).
Gerade noch rechtzeitig habe ich davon gehört, dass der Bahnhof Buttes saniert wird.
Da dazu wegen einer Baustelle zwischen Neuchâtel und La Chaux-de-Fonds auch die TransN eigenen Flirts statt im Austausch mit den SBB nach Le Locle, für einmal alle ins Val de Travers eingesetzt wurden, war dies ein Grund mehr ins Val de Travers zu fahren.
Zwischen den Zügen bot sich die Gelegenheit etwas das schöne Dorf zu erkunden, wo es noch viele alte und unversehrte Gebäude zu bestaunen gibt.
Hier sieht man den Anschluss auf das Postauto Richtung La Côte-aux-Fées.
