Trwyn Du Lighthouse or Penmon lighthouse on Anglesey North Wales is accessible by heading east out of Beaumaris and through Llangoed. For a small fee you can go along a toll road and park very close to the lighthouse or park for free about a mile from the lighthouse. The area around Dinmor contains a cafe, shop and toilets and is good for fishing.

Occupying a prominent coastal position overlooking the Irish Sea, Dunskey Castle has been the site of a fortification since at least the fourteenth century. Destroyed by Sir Alexander McCulloch in 1489, it was rebuilt in the form of a L-plan tower house and was later substantially extended. The fortification was the home of the Adair family for three hundred years.Dunskey Castle was substantially rebuilt in the early sixteenth century by Ninian Adair who had previously constructed the Castle of St John in Stranraer. The new castle took the form of a three-storey L-plan tower house. A barmkin (curtain wall) ran around the perimeter of the promontory enclosing all the ancillary buildings and included a watch tower.

Street art in Lisbon is flourishing. For over a decade the city's supported urban artists. And now even local government embraces the medium. A trip to Lisbon is incomplete without a tour of the city’s street art. Alfama is the oldest district of the city- the “old town” as it’s known locally. In this district, visitors will find plenty of crumbling bricks and ancient architecture with some sort of street art on them.

The exact date Dungeon Ghyll the building is unknown, but it was originally a farm and an inn, noted in 1885 as being known as Middlefell Inn. Still working through my pictures from Open House. This one was taken on the Sunday. This is an Office Building tucked away on Ropemaker Street Nr Moorgate Underground Station. This was only part of Open House on the Saturday and then by prebooking. I was close by and took the opportunity to take this picture of the Atrium which has open access. It is open to the air on 3 sides and used as a cut through. Despite this when I last tried to Photograph it a month earlier a Security Guard rushed out to ban photographs. Strange mentality that, maybe they need something to do. Anyway on a Sunday there were no security guards about so I got a few shots.

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens at 10mm. 3 raw images 2EV spacing for HDR. Outputted in Photomatix using Detail Enhancer. It was a bright sunny day which produced good reflections in the glass. I did find though that there was far too much detail making it look too cluttered even after conversion to mono using Topaz BW Effects. To counter this I used another Topaz plugin called Simplify 4. I removed the effect from the main pillars using a layer mask in order to emphasize these.

King Ethelbert of the East Angles is buried in Hereford Cathedral Born in East Anglia, he became king of the East Angles at age 14. He was murdered by King Offa of Mercia in 794 at the age of 15. His remains are interred in Hereford Cathedral, where he became the focus of a cult of pilgrimage and healing. He is the patron saint of Hereford Cathedral, along with St Mary the Virgin. A modern shrine to the saint was introduced in 2007. It consists of an icon screen wrapped around the central pillar. His feast day is celebrated every 20th May. This was taken on my last day trip to London which included a visit to Embankment Underground Station. I had taken a shot here before but it is one of my favourite tunnels on the London Underground and I wanted to try it with a different viewpoint. First task was to find the tunnel again in the total maze at this station. I eventually found it further down en route to the Bakerloo Line. It is a link tunnel between the Bakerloo Line and the Northern Line and for some reason it is very little used off-peak which allowed me to try out various shots.

.

The picture was taken handheld with a Sony A700 with an 8mm Samyang Fisheye Lens. I use one shot with RAW editing. I edited in Photoshop first using the ruler tool and crop tool to get the view lined up just right. I then used Topaz Clarity. The clone tool was used to remove distractions in the corners and then a slight vignette was added

Kazimierz was founded in the 14th century by King Casimir the Great, initially as a separate city. The area became a major center for Jewish life, attracting Jewish communities from Bohemia and other regions. For centuries, Kazimierz was a place where Jewish and Polish cultures coexisted and intermingled. During World War II, the Jewish population of Kazimierz was forcibly relocated to the Krakow ghetto in Podgórze by the German occupying forces. Today, Kazimierz is a major tourist attraction and cultural hub, with remnants of its Jewish history still visible.

The Shambles Market is a daily market held in the city centre of York, England. It was created in the 1950s after the clearance of a large area next to the Shambles, when large sections of the Shambles were demolished, including the entire street known as Little Shambles. Until 1955 the city's main markets were in Parliament Street and St Sampson's Square. That year, the market in St Sampson's Square was closed, and the one in Parliament Street was reduced to opening only on Saturdays. The displaced market stalls were offered space in a newly cleared area between Newgate, Jubbergate and The Shambles. Today, the demolition of the historic buildings that originally stood in the place of the market is seen as insensitive, since a great deal of historic fabric was destroyed.
