Where do you go climbing when you're living in a city?
In Summer there are many Spots, including some bridges in parks, perfect for some deep water soloing (or even flat water soloing) experiments!
But what do you do when it's winter and the lakes are frozen?
You do ICE BUILDERING/Deep Ice soloing :D
Me and some friends took our chrashpads and did some bridge boulders we tried in summer. To get a real authentic feeling, we surely did our climbs only chlothed with short :D Brrrrr, freezing cold!

Probably my favourite shot from the trip to New York; I decided to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan across the Brooklyn bridge.
While the views of New York were excellent, it was these construction workers working on the side of the bridge that captivated me the most.

Seen from the rear of another train, the Empire Builder rolls along at Savanna, IL on the CB&Q, headed for the Chicago. Bringing up the rear is one of the 119x "Coulee" series 4-1-6-Lou.-Obs. cars. Five of the six in the series were built by P-S in 1947, with the sixth in 1950. All were originally 2 Bedroom 1-Drawing Room-Buffet-Lounge-Obs. cars. They were all converted to 4-1-6-Lou.-Obs. cars in 1955. In 1967, five of the six were rebuilt to 68 Seat Coaches, with the sixth unconverted car being retired in 1969 and scrapped. The five coaches passed into BN hands in 1970 and were sold to Amtrak in 1971. After Amtrak, the five had varying lives, with one still in existence as of 2025.

The NRHS convention is over and I begin my trip back to SoCal by way of the Empire Builder to Seattle.
At Chicago’s Union Station while boarding the Empire Builder on a parallel platform was METRA 405 and 402, so I got one more shot of these beautifully painted locomotives.

A worker in a boat building yard at Mandvi sports a fine henna coloured beard. It took most of the afternoon to persuade him to pose for a picture but in the end, he seemed happy enough.

Coach builder Vanden Plas started to produce car bodies in the beginning of the 20th C., mostly for higher class car brands.
After WWII tight connections were made with Austin Motor Company.
In 1958 Vanden Plas started to assembly complete Austin cars, and in 1960 the brand name Austin was dropped. The Princess was on top of the Austin range and was called now Vanden Plas Princess.
This Princess was the luxury version of the BMC/BL ADO 16-range, designed by Alec Issigonis. The Austin/Morris 1100/1300 range was the most famous of them.
Seen at Garage Viaduc Auto, Nantua. The owner was very friendly and let me photograph freely all interesting old cars inside his garage.
1275 cc L4 petrol engine.

Liam is a builder and is now fulfilling his dream of building his own house.. This was taken at the top of the scaffolding as he starts to slate the roof.. I am recording the build for them which will be in a photo book.
This was not the shot I envisaged when the challenge was announced. One of my daughter in laws is an author, writing fictions inspired by the islands. As a result she is very bury on social media and I often help out with portraits in some of our beautiful and inspiring locations. A shoot with Rachel would have been ideal, adding some photos to her stock and getting a portrait for the challenge. The shoot was planned for Friday but events overtook us and it didn't happen. so then it was into panic mode . Luckily Liam saved the challenge
. Post Office. The Post Office was erected in 1872. John Petrie was the builder and F Stanley the architect. Cost £7,450. City planned with a line of sight from central station by Post Office to Anglican Church across the Brisbane River at kangaroo Point. Line of sight long since gone. The General Post Office building which became a major feature of this urban space was built by John Petrie in two stages between 1871 and 1879. It replaced an earlier simple post office building and the old female factory building and compound which had stood on the site since 1829.
