As the eastbound Empire Builder rounds the curve near Browning Montana, I quickly realize myself and a childhood friend are running a little late. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, however on this day I'm due to get married at Essex! Really I should have known this would happen, since my friend, and Best Man, has never been on time for anything since we were 14 years old. Thanks to some light fall traffic on Highway 2, we made it to the alter in plenty of time, with my bride to be exclaiming "I knew you two would be late!!"
At Track speed, the Empire Builder cruises through Frontenac MN on a code blue day. As it passes, I wish I were on it having French toast, bacon and coffee in the warmth of the diner.. Great day for a trip along the Mississippi as the Builder travels to Chicago.

My entry for LUGOLA's June Bronze Builder Challenge. The special element is the blue car fender element I used to frame the eye, top and bottom. It's a janky build. Lots of one stud connections and crazy SNOT going on.
Running several hours late, Amtrak train 8, the eastbound 'Empire Builder', comes alongside a CP ethanol train moving in the same direction at 16th Street, Milwaukee.
With Aigara. Safety first, Princess!
(Also realize Homi's ponytail! My sister said her hairstyle is simlar to Chen from The Road to El Dorado =P)

Amtrak’s eastbound Empire Builder crosses the big fill just east of Bison, Montana, during a snowy crossing of Marias Pass on December 21, 1998. Three GE P40DC “Genesis” locomotives power No. 8—Nos. 809, 823 and 828—all in different schemes.
Here is my custom LEGO Mario as he appears in the Super Mario Maker games. I think he's a unique addition to my collection! What do you guys think?? :p
Iron Builder model 6.
Antman is the closest approximation I can get with my parts. I wanted to use Bionicle/HF in one of my builds.
Master Builders House was originally occupied by its builder, Alexander Morris, a Beaulieu builder who also managed the Beaulieu brickworks.
Shipbuilder John Darley was resident in 1747 and Master Shipbuilder Henry Adams lived there from 1749 to 1805. Henry's son Edward Adams followed from 1813 to 1849 and his widow remained in occupation until 1852. Henry Adams oversaw the building of over 50 ships for the Royal Navy, including Nelson’s favourite ship, the Agamemnon.
The building was constructed around 1729 and since 1925 it’s been a hotel, originally called the Shipbuilders House. Among the visitors to the hotel in the 1920s was Queen Mary who visited during Cowes Regatta week, and fittingly, during the Second World War the hotel was taken over by the Admiralty.

I got this LEGO set as a thank you for being a beta tester for LEGO World Builder several months ago.
I decided to take a photo of it yesterday since taking on a role with the company recently.
Very excited to build out the community and surface AFOL-created worlds to the team!
The Portland section of Amtrak's Empire Builder train #27 approaches the BNSF Cooks Siding with the 167 leadig, in Washington along the Columbia River not long after dawn on a cloudy cool morning December 30, 2019.
Busy little Wren collecting nesting material & not bothered by people @ Lakenheath Fen visitor centre today.
The night before, Empire Builder #7 was prepping to leave Chicago, when the lead Charger died before they got moving. They had to a P42 to help it get onto the road (not sure why it took so long). Here they are passing by downtown St Paul, just over 8 hours late
The westbound Empire Builder is seen here departing Union Station just a few minutes behind schedule at CP Morgan.
The Empire Builder continues its snowy journey east kicking up powder along the former Milwaukee Road in St. Paul's West 7th neighborhood with plenty of power for its nine car train.
What a wild ride this has been! From my first Iron Builder round back when it was a gruelling long month to this new fast paced 2-week format. Iron Builder is a tough competition where all eyes are on the contestants, so there is no room for sloppyness along the way! (And it's damn hard to combine with a full time job sometimes!)
I'd like to thank everyone who has provided me with encouragement along the way. Be it liking my builds or providing me with comments and feedback, you are all great and you make it worth it. So thank you :)
Now what did I think of this last seed piece? Well, after getting over the initial shock I think I liked it better than the dynamite. But the blue shield holder did not give me an easy ride. For me there are two problems with it. One is that its main connection point is an axle instead of a bar, and I am in no way used to building with Technic. My collection of Technic-pieces is severely poorly sorted, and I am really bad at using those types of clunky pieces. So I often worked around that by finding other ways of attaching the shield holder that did not have to rely on Technic. The other problem with the piece? The color blue. I am not a huge fan of LEGO standard blue. It is not the color I buy the most parts in, nor is it a color I find particularly easy to work with. So those two factors where something I had to overcome during these two weeks, and I feel like I was able to pull through pretty well once I got going. Overall the piece had an interesting shape and provided the ability to put things at an angle. And I didn't even know this piece existed before I opened my envelope with them!
Iron Builder tends to bring out the best in me, and this round was no different. I am particularly pleased with a few of my builds this round, notably Jörmugandr and Blue Shelled. Both builds that play into my interests outside of the LEGO hobby, and both builds where I feel like I was able to use the seed piece in some really fitting ways. The robomaid was the most fun build though, I just love the expression the seed piece gave it.
Now it's time for a new champion to take my place. I wish you the best in the future Elias, good luck taking on your next challenger!
