This Dragonfly is the first I have managed to photograph. She was absolutley beautifull, I believe it is a female Common Darter Sympetrum striolatum.

Many thanks to Eddie (a.k.a Wildlife On The Go The Bugman) who helped me correctly identify her as a female Black-tailed Skimmer ~ Orthetrum cancellatum. .

She even transfered to my fingers for a while.

I have used TAWS gotta bug? set and created unique little characters - a drug bug, bugman (a play on the walkman -remember those?!), a shopping bug and an exercise bug!

Went to the most interesting birthday party yesterday. My granddaughter asked that all the gifts be for the cats at the cat rescue place instead of for her. Plus, my daughter had the "Bugman" come for entertainment and he had the kids transfixed for at least an hour with his show and tell about bugs. Most of my pictures were flops, but he was kind enough to ask this moth to pose for me.

Hugh's new pet. A kabuto beetle- it's the big black beetle with a head that looks like a samurai's helmet(kabuto). June, 2008.

Zaque the Space Man is 3 or 4 light years and likes David Bowie and laser guns. He dislikes helmet hair and dogs who mistake him for a bone.

A Chinese Mantis crawls up the side of Bugman Mark Berman's face during the Family Fun with The Bugman event at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, March 29, 2014. The Bugman event gave children an opportunity hold a variety of bugs they might have previously been afraid of. (Columbus Dispatch/Sam Greene)

Painted just after I Monster's second album "A Dense Swarm of Ancient Stars" came out and inspired by the song in the title. Made the bugman's eye into an "I".

A generous coating of Nuln Oil, and then several shades of brown and cream colours dry brushed then helped it to look more like wood. The chimney breast was of course fine with shades of grey. I then used pollyfiller to give the walls a rough texture

BUGman book Launch with Narasimhan Iyengar

My 'Bugman on Barrels' model I painted around 2009

I then finally got more Green Stuff to use on the raised flooring and the chimney breast, and cut up many hot drink stirrers to use as panelling on the walls
