This is my Minotaur. All metallic parts are painted non-metallic metal. It was also the first time I painted shadow in the recesses of the skin by blending Imperial Primer to Bugman's Glow. It has ventured upon a Bretonnian farmland and is being shot at. I hope you like it, all comments are welcome!

I wasn't sure what this was, and thought it was a scale insect---thanks to Eddie the Bugman for the ID and interesting information.

Found rushing about on an ash tree in among the leaves, on a branch that was getting blown about in the wind... there, all my excuses for the naff photos :)

For some time I have been wanting to find and photograph Sitticus pubescens, a member of the Salticidae family. I have to say a big thankyou to fellow fickr friend Eddie The Bugman for pointing me to a good spot.

These guys were incredibly well camouflaged on their dark stone wall, and quite hard to approach. A pleasure to observe and photograph during my lunch break today. Had a few strange looks from the anglers by the canal as I stalked up and down the wall

On a leaf at Auchengree Farm Shop walk.

Found this tiny (maybe 2mm) bump on a leaf, so pointed my macro at it to see what it was... I thought it looked like something in the process of metamorphosing, and I was thought maybe, on looking at the photos, that it was a ladybird, but then I remembered how small it was.

The photos aren't great, because as always, this was on a leaf, and I had no tripod, and there was nothing to lean on, lol..

A very small spider that I found on a leaf. I was amazed at how large its pepipalps are....

This was a large beetle crossing the road on my walk to school. Bugman, beetles in the bush... little help here...

The Bugman had stick insects, cockroaches, giant snails, scorpions and a red-kneed tarantula spider. Also, big signs everywhere saying 'DO NOT TOUCH'.

I'm kind of posting this in tribute to Steve Irwin.

Qual arte está melhor?

Just thought I'd share with you the whole of the Carabidae larvae I found the other day, this one was about 5-6mm long and stayed perfectly still for me for most of the time, I wish I knew what species of Carabidae it will become.

For this one I had the MP-E at just under x3 magnification, but I decided to use an F/7.1 aperture, saying that it still took 18 images to do the entire handheld focus stack. I had found a tree stump on which I rested the stick this larvae was on. It made a perfect mini studio, the only problem was seeing the subject as it was in woodland and late afternoon on a cloudy day, so there was some guess work involved. I'm quite pleased with the results of this one, also in the image are a couple of fungal fruiting bodies which looked quite nice.

Snowing here in Nottingham today, feels just like Spring, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
