Yesterday morning, something bit me. I didn't realize for sure that it was a bite until today when the swelling had gone down some. Originally, it was this really big lump right behind my elbow with a hard bump in it, and it was a big bruise. It hurt.
Now, the bump has gone down some, there's a mosquito bite-like thing in the middle of the bruised area. I'm a little worried about it.
Does anyone know what it is?
Also, it's pretty difficult to take a picture of your own elbow.
Another source of stress during my time in rural Chiapas was the bug bites. Every night there were new ones. At first they weren't too bad; just mildly itchy bumps all over my hands, feet, ankles, lower legs, wrists....
Once we got into San Cristobal though, the itching got bad. Really bad. I have never itched like that in my life. It was maddening. I spent two days with my legs covered in Benadryl lotion, adding more by the half-hour, and it was still horrendous. If it was possible to OD on topical Benadryl, I'd be dead. I never knew I could itch like that, and a part of me wishes I hadn't been enlightened.
This was from back this summer when the blackbirds spent every waking hour filling hungry mouths. Weather permitting I'll be shooting Saturday and Sunday. It seems like it has been months since we've had a day with more than sporadic good light, and I've become painfully aware of how much I'm dependant on ideal conditions for good results. This beautiful baby montage will be momentarily interrupted while we bring you breaking news:
I got a bug bite -_-
It happened yesterday when I was shooting in the bosque. Stupid bosque.
NOW look at me! I'm a freak! A monster! No one will ever love me.
But I did manage to get this bitchin' photo out of it with my new cable release ;)
Baby photos will resume in 3...
I woke up this morning and noticed my inner right arm had small small bug bites on it. Don't know if it was flea, spider, or what type of insect. Luckily the reaction went away rather quickly and wasn't too itchy.

I got a bunch of bug bites over the weekend working and playing deep in the El Dorado Hills and they're still driving me itchy scratchy crazy mad. I think I might have got a touch of poison oak too. :(
