The most interesting bird find at Royal Natal was this species, a southern African endemic which we had missed at Sani Pass.
This is a male, which was singing from the top of a bush close to the road. There was another male and female nearby as well.
This cutie was first spotted by Steve L. in the morning, but I had a volunteer job all day and couldn't come to see it. I sure was glad when I got down there around 4:30 pm and it still was hanging around with a bunch of sanderlings. Probably the closest I've ever been to a buff-breasted sandpiper. I'm always adjusting, or moving, of fixing something. I have to do that a lot. I'm adjusting my Italian Horn here. Taken while sunbathing on my roof.

Yet another picture of Jimmy and me. I went out to the front yard to take pictures of the cats and Jimmy immediately came and sat in my lap. It's hard to take pictures so close that your subject is almost touching the camera lens.
