OK I am more or less caught up. Last weekend Amy and the girls decided to do the Bubble run. I was unsure if I would go as I wanted to visit dad that day as well but I decided to join at the last minute. Unfortunately the crowd was so ginormous that I felt the need to hustle my way through it. I would estimate that I had one child or the other on my shoulder for 4 of the 5 kilometers...probably more. In the end I did get some fun photos, and I got to see dad.
Unfortunately the weather was not great for walking with dad so no photos to share from that.
How to make this picture in 3 steps :
First, open a bottle of sprite
Secondly, put a bunch of grape in it
Thirdly, take a picture of the bottle in macro with a good Canon Point And Shoot!
the result is very strange, but I really like the bubbles !

Some experiments photographing bubbles with the new Sigma 55mm F/1.4 lens. Not easy since I had to blow the bubbles then grab the camera hanging on my neck. Some have the focus in the bubble reflections, others the bubble themselves is crisp...then there are a couple I kept simply for the incredible color and bokeh whether there was a clearly focused point or not
Testing out my new bubble machine!!!

I took Booh to a fabulous fairy festival in Shelburne Falls (hense the wings). There room was filled with bubbles from a bubble machine and the fairies float around. Here she is blowing bubbles out the wind with beehive cake crumbs on her little chin.
