I was out last evening taking photos of the dog jumping up for bubbles when I accidentally zoom in on a bubble itself. It has caught an interesting reflection inside - just for fun
Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge 26/04/2025 -- Bubbles .
You will have to do with just the two bubbles for the challenge , there was a spirit bubble on the tripod but is always hidden once a camera is mounted .
Anyway , here is a neat little level that fits into the flash hotshoe on top of the camera . With it in this configuration you can check that the camera is not tilting to one side or the other and that you are taking a shot with a level view . Of course if it is wonky horizons you are worried about then most cameras will have a built in indicator available to activate on the rear screen or in the viewfinder !!
Worth it one way or another , nothing so annoying as to see an image that is tilted when it should be straight ( Dutch Angles excepted ) !!
A good friend from a photo site back in the day who was a brilliant photographer always said about how wonky horizons were bad photography which could be easily fixed with post processing being one of the quickest and easiest fixes going - something I have never forgotten D.J. !!
Well a bubble challenge sorted and for a tune to go with it , I wonder how many of you will remember this ----
This is a close-up HDR photo of detergent soap bubbles in a plastic tray. I took this image outside, so the larger soap bubbles are reflecting the overhead canopy of trees, and most of them are reflecting the iridescence elicited by the bright sunlight. The detail in this frame filling photo is best appreciated when seen full screen in Slideshow.
This picture just got shortlisted in the british photography awards. Please consider voting for it.

Probably the best of my frozen bubbles from yesterday evenings attempt. Depth of field is too shallow, but I'm Ok with it.
This one is shot at night with LED light source.
Compositionally Challenged Week 2 - Bubbles
Soapy water poured onto a decorative plate and shot with southern window exposure.
Bubbling , bubbling around the stone
Guarding the depths, Neptune's home
Gathering together, over the deep
Filled with tears that God did weep
Bubbling, bubbling, multiplying
On the blue, they are lying
Guarding the deep, Neptune's home
Where they kiss the waiting stone
Bubble wrap (seen from close) often used by me to protect fragile goods, which I send by post to someone :)

You can use this pattern but please credit/link back to me :)
And show me what you have used it for ^_^
Bubbles are weird things.
They have more colours than a rainbow.
They're not fragile. They're infinitely flexible.
They're not what we think they are.

Had fun with this one. Used a tiny tube from my husbands tool box. I wanted to do a frozen bubble but it was not quite cold enough.
Barely cold enough to freeze bubbles this morning. Most popped and the crystal formation was not as good as the frozen bubble I took on February 4, 2023 when it was really cold. But I was happy when a few froze.
I was walking down Market Street today and a guy was throwing soap bubbles up into the air. I thought I would take a picture of one and just as I pressed the camera button, it burst!

Remember how excited we would be as kids when taken to a toy store. I experienced that feeling at Abraham Lake.. Running around insanely happy, utterly oblivious to the extreme cold, the harsh winds, the slippery surface beneath my feet. Suspended in blissful exhilaration that comes from finding your flow.
Had to share a vertical comp of the scene :)
So nice to toss off one's bra and soak in a big tub after a busy day.

Gaudi Park - Barcelona. Picture of bubbles made by a childrens entertainer in Goudi park on a sunny day. I loves the way the light catches the water and also the way the picture capture the bubbles bursting
Got up early this morning to take a couple of bubble pictures...Really much too windy for bubbles today... I am standing in front of a large brick pillar in my red pj's just to get out of the wind! You can see one of the other bubbles I blew in this bubble! THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE VIEWS, COMMENTS AND FAVS.....IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME!!!!!!
