Did you know this is a fully lined dress?
I love lined dresses! They always look so great and professional finished.
Didn't go for the scalloped side seams (not quite sure about that for a day-wear dress), but love the final result a lot (will be making at least one more for summer).
Size 2T, Cotton fabric from a local shop.

Pattern: Oliver+S Bubble Dress, View B, with modified sleeve. I made it a "jumper" by cutting the pattern with the topstitch line on the sleeve.
Fabric: A multi-colored (light blue, navy blue, and orange) twill. It almost looks purple-blue from a distance. I got it at a local fabric store, not sure of the brand or the name.
The bubble effect is really cute and a fun detail. This is my very first dress I've sewn! This pattern was really easy to follow considering I'm a newbee. I can't wait to try out more Oilver+S patterns!

Getting ready for spring! This is the second dress I've made from the bubble dress pattern, and the first time I did the scallops on the side. It wasn't hard to cut and sew the scallops, but it was kind of a pain to iron the curves flat. I love this dress pattern using the voile fabric. It's really lightweight and airy and flows well with bubble and movement. It's also soft and luxurious. It's lined with unbleached muslin.
I'm going to make another dress from this pattern next with no scallops, and no bubble. This dress in size 2 fits my little girl (who is 22 months) very well, and I love the bodice.

For today. I'll try to upload 2 tomorrow as well. :)
This fabric is really a magenta color, but my camera HATES magenta, fuchsia, etc. I still have a beautiful crocheted dress from Jo in this color that I haven't been able to photograph properly!

Arthur, can you believe it?
I can close that damn zipper! For the first time since 8th grade!
(I bought this when I was 13.)
I couldn't be happier, because even though I'll probably never wear it in public it's still the goddamn prettiest dress I've ever laid eyes on. (In real life, I mean; red carpet pictures from the Academy Awards® don't count, of course!)
