Another practice shot with the MIKAR/S Polish enlarger lens...knocks you dizzy trying to focus it ;-))

Carl Zeiss Ultron 1.8/50 M42 with adapter
Ever the scientist, I attempt to get at the bottom of things. So I tried to learn more about the Ultron Bubble Bokeh (TM). It only appears in full force when shot wide open, because the diaphragm has five blades and when stopping down the bubbles change to pentagons. No surprise there. The focusing is imperfect but I wanted to show the bubble bokeh effect so I uploaded this one anyway.
Yes. It is over the top. No question about that. I'm just showing this to underline a point of scientific interest.
Taken using a Meyer-Optik Gorlitz 30mm f/3.5 Lydith adapted to my Nikon Z6. Love the bokeh on this lens and it's surprisingly sharp when stopped down a little. This was shot wide open at f/3.5.

Quello che mi piace di questo obiettivo è che è molto "vellutato"...

Still trying to get a grip of this lens to have it perform as I like. Not as easy as I thought... The blur it creates is rather different according to distance or light conditions. Rikenon 55mm f1.2 was easier to handle.

Rikenon 55mm f1.2 was easier to handle. The mae-bokeh, particularly if very close, tends to disappear almost completely under f2.8.
