The original shot, edited it the most basic ways only (sharpened it up a little, increased the exposure a tad).
I used to love working near Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood. The old Rainier brewery buildings made for a lovely atmosphere, and overall the neighborhood just has such a unique feeling. Yet, unique feeling or no, the remaining older buildings have been allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair that it's a wonder they still stand. I believe this building is currently owned by the city.
Hundreds of people took to the streets on March 28, 2018; to protest in New York City over the fatal police shooting of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man in Sacramento, California; chanting and carrying signs as they marched from Columbus Circle to Times Square. Police say at least 11 people were detained. It was not immediately clear what charges they could face. (Photo by Erik McGregor)
Over a hundred people joined Ramarley Graham’s family; other families of those killed by the police; members of the Justice Committee; Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ); Black, Jewish leaders and other Jews of Color; Jewish New Yorkers from across the five boroughs; and Black Lives Matter-NY at Grand Central station, for a public action and vigil in conjunction with Beyond The Moment’s National Day of Action on April 4, 2017; followed by a march through midtown Manhattan to demand from the Mayor and the NYPD commissioner more accountability in the Ramarley Graham case and an end to Broken Windows Policing in NYC
This is an abandoned house we pass when we make a trip back home. So much character, I love this house!
This house was in the middle of nowhere. So much so, that it seems like vandals hadn't really discovered it. Most of the windows were intact (even the curtains were still up). This was one of the only broken ones.
Over a thousand people in Crown Heights, joined the family of Saheed Vassell, an unarmed Black man shot dead by NYPD on Wednesday night; for a memorial rally on April 5, 2018; followed by a march to the NYPD 71 precinct to demand justice and accountability for the killing of for Saheed Vassell. The text says:
"These fragments of old glass formerly filled the upper tier of the East window.
A German land-mine with parachute attached was dropped in a field between the church and the river at 9:20 in the evening of 16th September 1940. The explosion shattered the windows, displaced roof tiles and shook down plaster throughout the church. All adjacent houses suffered in the same way, but no one was hurt.
This inscription has been placed here in thankfulness to GOD for our merciful deliverance and in memory of William Grenville Boyd, Vicar 1938-1941, who collected and began arranging the old glass."
