On my way to Barnes & Noble, I passed this old pickup truck. (Family members: It was like the Arizona, if you know what I'm talking about.) In said truck was a carseat, but instead of a kid there was this dog instead.

the old asbestos plant

Ambler PA In 1881, the Keasbey and Mattison Company, whose business included the manufacture of asbestos, moved to Ambler from Philadelphia. The company invested heavily in the town. However, the Great Depression took its toll on the company, and it was sold to an English concern, Turner & Newhall, in 1934. Newhall operated the factory until it closed in 1962. Contamination remains an issue in Ambler. One area was declared a Superfund site and remediated by the United States EPA. Another remains unremediated. The derelict factory and smokestack remain as a symbols of asbestos' legacy.

Hundreds of people took to the streets on March 28, 2018; to protest in New York City over the fatal police shooting of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man in Sacramento, California; chanting and carrying signs as they marched from Columbus Circle to Times Square. Police say at least 11 people were detained. It was not immediately clear what charges they could face. (Photo by Erik McGregor)

It's a kind of symbolic in my eyes, especially if you know the street it was taken in.

A set of six images seen when walking through a local alleyway. The windows of an unused BT building have fallen victim to our local vandals. Their mindlessness has however created hidden glass artworks for those who can see.

I thought there was a connection, but the guy appeared and explained. Window was busted out on Valentine's Day (glass still there on street?) and "Beware" is left over from Halloween. I'm trying to compute this in March.

On June 30, 2017; Keegan Stephan and attorneys, Gideon Orion Oliver and Elena Cohen, held a press conference at the NYS Supreme Court steps in Manhattan. In settlement of a lawsuit brought in August of 2016 by activist Keegan Stephan to reform the NYPD’s Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”) policies, and seeking records regarding the NYPD’s uses of, and training related to, Long Range Acoustic Devices (“LRADs”), the NYPD has agreed to a Stipulation and Order requiring sweeping changes to the way it handles FOIL requests, as well as disclosure of documents related to its LRAD uses. New York State Supreme Court Justice Manuel Mendez signed the Stipulation and Order of Settlement and Discontinuance on June 29, 2017.

Amidst allegations of overt racism at several city schools, the #BlackLivesMatterAtSchool Coalition held an after school rally on February 13, 2018; at the steps of the Tweed Courthouse, to demand a forward-thinking change in policies that uphold systemic racism in our schools. Black Lives Matter At School demands were delivered by the organizers to the New York City Schools Chancellor, Carmen Fariña. (Photo by Erik McGregor)

Over a hundred people joined Ramarley Graham’s family; other families of those killed by the police; members of the Justice Committee; Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ); Black, Jewish leaders and other Jews of Color; Jewish New Yorkers from across the five boroughs; and Black Lives Matter-NY at Grand Central station, for a public action and vigil in conjunction with Beyond The Moment’s National Day of Action on April 4, 2017; followed by a march through midtown Manhattan to demand from the Mayor and the NYPD commissioner more accountability in the Ramarley Graham case and an end to Broken Windows Policing in NYC

On August 24, 2017 in front of the Council offices at 250 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, NYC Democratic Socialists of America and their allies ralled for The Right to Know Act and to demand NYPD accountability. The Right to Know Act is ONE co-sponsor away from a veto proof majority in the City Council. Democrats under the leadership of Mayor de Blasio and Speaker Mark-Viverito, refuse to bring this essential piece of police reform up for a vote. (Photo by Erik McGregor)
