Hundreds of people took to the streets on March 28, 2018; to protest in New York City over the fatal police shooting of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man in Sacramento, California; chanting and carrying signs as they marched from Columbus Circle to Times Square. Police say at least 11 people were detained. It was not immediately clear what charges they could face. (Photo by Erik McGregor)

This is taken at Mill Creek Cattle Company, Mentone, CA, on the east end of Redlands. This one really pleases my eye. Old cactus, broken windows and weathered wood. It doesn't get much better than that.

A few choices today from what was largely a pretty day, weather wise at least. I went for the dramatic one.

This window isn't mine. This morning one of the neighbours knocked to ask if a car in the street was one of ours as the back window had been smashed last night.

I checked out the CCTV and it looks like kids, though I didn't actually see the blow being struck so I'm thinking something thrown.

The car is a Jaguar X-type that was parked there a week ago and the owner hasn't been back since, though they did secure the vehicle first.

Interestingly it has a current MOT but hasn't been taxed for at least four years(!). Maybe the DVLA will tow it away.

You ever have one of those shots where you are not sure where to begin the “style post processing part”? For me this is one of those images.

I found myself going round and round on what to do with it. At first I was convinced black and white would be the way to go. None of those seem to feel right. The boarded up plywood just refused to be in monochrome. So I hit the reset button more times than I can count.

After several iterations I settled in on the current incarnation. I’m still torn on who the star of this photo is, the crazy paint peel or the contrast of the plywood against the brick.

Perhaps the stage is big enough for both…

That morning it was not the only car in the street that had its window smashed

Broken windows in Brentford London.

A broken storefront window on North Hudson St. in Arlington, right off Wilson Blvd.

This store property is up for lease. There were a whole string of restaurants and small shops, now shuttered and probably destined to become Starbucks or condos.

You can see the Museum of Modern ARF reflected in the window. I'll have to stop in next time.

Police accountability advocates gathered in front of the Bronx DA office in solidarity with Copwatcher Jose LaSalle as he demands that Bronx DA Darcel Clark re-open an investigation on the officers who perjured themselves to falsified charges against Jose LaSalle followed by a march to the Psa7 precinct and demand that the officers involved are fired. The city and the NYPD agreed to pay LaSalle $860,000 on a settlement. (Photo by Erik McGregor)

Már régóta próbálok egy rendes HDR képet csinálni, mostanra találtam egy jónak tűnő Photomatrix beállítást.

Workers replacing a broken window in Tampa's tallest building.

This was in the parking lot of an auto repair place. With the glass all over the ground, suggesting that it was actually broken right there. In front of a sign reading "Not responsible for vehicles left in lot over night".

If your goal is to steal things from inside a car, it seems like a side window would be a lot better to break. So I'm wondering if the owner of the repair place was just like "Hey, someone parked in our lot. Let's get a little more business this month."
