Sorry, I don't even remember the exact location where I shot this old chicken coop; I do remember it was near a game reserve off Slater Road south of Ferndale, but from there....
Doors separated five or six side by side greenhouses at the abandoned nursery. All the greenhouses were in advanced stages of deterioration and decay.
The hand prints on the kitchen wall in the trash infested house give a sense of the desperation of the squatters who spent time in this place. A 1998 Emerald Queen Casino calendar is pasted to the wall above.
The Ballyglunin train station in Co. Galway, Ireland stands in a state of disrepair.
The station famously featured in 'The Quiet Man' movie starring John Wayne.

I love taking photos of all things old, broken, vintage, or as Dave so eloquently puts it, 'dead things'. To me they have a great sense of charm. Call me weird, but I could spend all day in a junkyard, antique store or old run down farm house. There is probably no bigger smile on my face than when I am driving through a country side and I spot an old shed or windmill :)
