The abandoned ends of this rusty but historic truss bridge are all that remain of Old Tugaloo River Bridge, which once connected South Carolina to Georgia along US 123. Today they are know as the “Broken Bridges” and serve as two of the area’s most peaceful and scenic fishing piers. You will also find picnic tables and a boat ramp at the site.
View of the Semois river and the "broken bridge" On May 11, 1940 the bridge was destroyed by the French who wanted to protect their retreat before the Nazi's. In 1941, the bridge was repaired, only to be destroyed again by the Germans on August 6, 1944, in order to protect their retreat. It was never rebuilt.

What a luck, daughter dropped an Ikea glass.
Me: 'Don't throw it away, I will take a picture of it"
Daughter: 'Are you crazy dad?'
Since time immemorial, attempts have been made to establish borders. The sense of ownership has led to drawing lines on a map: sometimes a river, other times a mountain range, a mark on a desert,... a concrete wall or a barbed wire fence and broken glass. Broken windows and empty hallways
A pale dead moon in the sky streaked with gray
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's going to rain today
Scarecrows dressed in the latest styles
With frozen smiles to chase love away
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's going to rain today
Lonely, lonely
Tin can at my feet
Think I'll kick it down the street
That's the way to treat a friend
Bright before me the signs implore me
To help the needy and show them the way
Human kindness is overflowing
And I think it's going to rain today

Playing around with my photo suite again on a selfie from my phone and quite liked the effect of this picture so thought I'd upload it to vary my photostream and not have it all of Asha...lol. Unfortunately my phone pictures only upload small file sizes around 500 KB which is ok if you don't try to get a big picture...lol
fiddling around with a sketch I started after a trip back to Broken Hill in 2014. Huonville Station, my grandparents used to own it - Sheep country.
The odd thing about this shed in my opinion was where I found it. Behind a fairly modern industrial complex. Maybe it was a left over from the property that was bought for the complex
