The end of the trail to Broken Hill at Torrey Pines, where the hill crumbles away at both sides into a thin knife. The rock is very soft here, and erosion turns it into fantastic ripples.

The building Broken Angel is a unique melding of art and architecture designed by my father Arthur Wood, and located in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn. The original building was bought at a city auction in 1979, and major construction was completed in 2002. On 10/10/06 a structure at the top of Broken Angel caught fire. Thanks to the quick action of the New York City fire department no one was harmed, and only minimal damage was done to the building. Unfortunately the fire brought the attention of the department of buildings (DOB) who vacated my parents, the owners and guardians of Broken Angel. My family is currently working with the architecture firm, Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture www.jpda.net/news.html, to bring the building to code, however we are still being threatened with demolition by the DOB. On Wednesday 11/15/06 the Brooklyn Supreme Court will begin hearings on whether the actions of the DOB are justified. Additionally we will be selling photographs and paintings as a fundraiser at Artez’n (444 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn NY). These works of art can also be viewed and purchased on line at www.artezn.com/product/?product_id=5246 .We are attempting to raise funds to save the building and develop it in a way that will help the community. In selling our art work we are hoping to make Broken Angel a permanent art installation and fixture of Brooklyn. Fridas Broken--finished. Glass on glass using broken Frida Kahlo dish, stained glass, seed beads, alphabet beads, millefiori, and star bead covered in epoxy resin.

That bluish green bottle might be really old. Look at the thickness of the glass.
Center bottle is from the Berlin Bottling Company of Berlin NJ.
Last two are medicine bottles. The one on the end just had no markings.
These are likely to be re-buried soon.
Unfortunately, due to the weight of the flowers of the broken leg ... I do not know how long it will live in a vase (I confirmed the two virágszárat wand that we can do it in water), and therefore miss much (hung). Very grateful little flower ... I got for my birthday two years ago and since then, it was the fourth gorgeous blooms ...
"Broken Chair" made for Handicapped International, an anti-landmine NGO by Swiss Visual Artist, Daniel Berset in 1997. This huge chair is placed in United Nations Square, in front of the United Nations European Headquarters (Place des Nations), Geneva, Switzerland. It represents the victims of landmines.
We all feel like this sometimes, the inner self laying naked and broken on the ground, curled in the foetal position. Unable to move but somehow we feel secure laying here so we stay just a little while longer.

Outside windows are not the only windows to be broken. It's hard to find any inside windows intact either.

One of the favourite haunts is always the quayside on any harbour.
Not the 'clean' side either, but where they discard their old, broken, unwanted and rusted chains, cable, rope, netting, etc. Often there's nobody there, it's quiet, apart from the wind, some crying seagull. All you need is your camera and your eyes, some good light...
Great fun.
In our lives, there are also sadly, 'the BROKEN LINKS', you can loose sight of someone dear to you through negligence, often in the times that we now live, we are much more on the move... distance can be a 'killer', laziness, complaisance are rife.
Communication has never been better, faster, easier, we have all the gadgets, yet I have the impression that there is less direct and personal communication between people...
Friendship and relationships are like a fire, it needs fuel, can get on a slow burner, but at some point feed it, or it will die, become another BROKEN LINK!
